  • Publication number: 20010056269
Abstract: A disposable undergarment has a liquid-absorbent panel, and the panel includes a body fluid absorbing/holding layer formed with a plurality of depressions each extending in the thickness direction thereof and a nonwoven fabric layer placed upon upper surface of the absorbing/holding layer. Heat-sealable fibers contained in the absorbing/holding layer are heat-sealed with the nonwoven fabric layer over contacting surfaces of these absorbing/holding layer and the nonwoven fabric layer. Furthermore, the nonwoven fabric layer is partially engaged in the depressions of the absorbing/holding layer so that the heat-sealable synthetic fibers contained in the absorbing/holding layer are heat-sealed with the nonwoven fabric layer also over contacting surfaces of these two layers in the respective depressions.

  • Publication number: 20010049516
Abstract: The disposable pull-on undergarment has first and second waist regions and a crotch region extending between these two waist regions. The waist regions are connected with each other in bonding zones extending along transversely opposite side edge portions thereof so as to define a waist-opening and a pair of leg-openings. First elastic members are bonded under tension to peripheral edge of the waist-opening and second elastic members are bonded under tension to peripheral edges of the leg-openings so that respective opposite ends of the first elastic members are positioned and fixed at first zones defined immediately inside the bonding zones in a circumferential direction of the waist-opening and respective opposite ends of the second elastic members are positioned and fixed at second zones defined immediately inside the bonding zones in a circumferential direction Y of the leg-openings.

  • Patent number: 6323387
Abstract: A disposable body fluids absorbent article including an absorbent core contained discrete particles, the discrete particles consisting of first polymer particles which have an initial water absorption rate and second polymer particles which have an initial water absorption rate lower than that of the first polymer particles, the first polymer particles being distributed exclusively in a zone defined by a lower ½ of a thickness of the core.

  • Publication number: 20010011168
Abstract: A pull-on disposable diaper is provided, in vicinity of transversely opposite side edges in a rear waist region, with fastening tape strips adapted to hold the diaper in its rolled up state for disposal after the diaper has been used, each of the tape strips includes a first portion extending longitudinally of the diaper parallel to the associated one of transversely opposite side edges and a second portion branched from the first portion and extends longitudinally of the diaper, longitudinally opposite end regions of the first portion are bonded to edges of waist- and leg-openings, and an anchoring zone adapted to be separably anchored on the outer peripheral surface of the rolled up diaper is defined on the second portion.

  • Patent number: 5662639
Abstract: A sanitary napkin has a pair of wings extending outward from transversely opposite side edges of the napkin. The wings are folded back onto a top surface of the napkin and provided on lower surfaces of the wings with first and second adhesive zones, respectively. The first and second adhesive zones are covered with a strip of separator having first and second end portions. The first end portion is folded back onto an inner surface of the separator, an outer surface of the folded first end portion being peelably applied to the first adhesive zone, the second end portion being peelably applied to the second adhesive zone.

  • Patent number: 5464689
Abstract: A resin composition which comprises 95 to 60 volume % of a resin mixture of 40 to 85% by weight of a copolymer between D-hydroxybutyrate and D-hydroxyvalerate containing 8 to 15 mol % of D-hydroxyvalerate-derived monomer unit and 60 to 15% by weight of poly-.epsilon.-caprolactone, and 5 to 40 volume % of an inorganic filler or fillers, a porous film produced from the resin composition and having a void volume of 10 to 70%, and a process for producing the porous film are disclosed. The film can be produced by melting the resin composition, forming it into a film, and stretching the film in at least one direction. The porous film can easily be degraded by microorganisms. Examples of the inorganic filler include barium sulfate, with the particle size being preferably 0.1 to 10.0 .mu.m.
