  • Patent number: 7362893
Abstract: In a color converter unit of an image encoding apparatus, a subtractor unit subtracts Y from Z and a divider unit divides the result of this subtraction (Z?Y) by 2 and supplies the result to a component signal Y1 to an image coding unit. Another subtractor unit subtracts Y from X and another divider unit divides the result of this subtraction (X?Y) by 2 and supplies the result as a component signal Y2 to the image coding unit. Y remains unprocessed and is supplied as a component signal Y0 to the image coding unit. The image coding unit compression-codes the converted three component signals Y0, Y1, Y2 according to the JPEG-2000 system to generate an encoded code stream. Thus, an image in the XYZ color space is compressed and expanded highly efficiently.

  • Patent number: 7362720
Abstract: A radio terminal unit and a radio communication system, enabling power savings, the improvement of the quality of real-time communication, and the reduction of transmission delays. An operation mode determination section determines whether real-time processing is necessary or unnecessary based on parameters of all active communication applications set by a communication application section. When real-time processing is necessary, a communication control section transmits a PS-Poll as a control packet for requesting delivery of packets to a radio base station, and turns on the power of a radio interface section so as to receive packets buffered by the radio base station. When real-time processing is unnecessary, the communication control section turns off the power of the radio interface section, and carries out intermittent receiving operation based on beacons transmitted from the radio base station.

  • Patent number: 7362301
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal panel module, sampling circuits that sample video signals a timing adjustment module driving signal generators and a dummy element. The timing adjustment module detects a variation in signal delay in the driving signal generators with a temperature change or with time, as a phase difference of an output signal from the dummy element relative to a reference signal. The timing adjustment module adjusts the phase of the timing signal corresponding to the detected phase difference. This arrangement corrects a temporal deviation of the sampling circuit driving signals from the video signals, which is caused by the variation in signal delay in the driving signal generators, and thereby effectively restrains the occurrence of ghost.

  • Publication number: 20080089146
Abstract: The semiconductor device includes a nonvolatile memory, having a memory array containing 1-bit twin cells, each composed of electrically rewritable first and second storage devices, the first and second storage devices holding binary data according to difference of their threshold voltages, and having different retention characteristics depending on difference of the binary data thereof; a read circuit for differentially amplifying complementary data output from the first and second storage devices of the twin cell selected for read, and judging information stored in the twin cell; and a control circuit. Two memory cells constituting a twin cell are arranged to hold different data. Therefore, even when the retention performance of one memory cell deteriorates, the difference between data held by the two memory cells can be maintained. Hence, differential amplification of such difference enables acquisition of proper stored information.
