  • Patent number: 6950268
Abstract: In a disk drive, since high-frequency repeatable runout (RRO) components own low correlative relationships between adjoining tracks, a servo control system of a magnetic head is followed to the high-frequency RRO components, and thus, in the worst case, there is a possibility that data which have been previously recorded on these tracks are destroyed. To avoid this problem, both a tracking type repetitive control unit which is followed to low-frequency RRO components, and a rejection type repetitive control unit which cancels the high-frequency RRO components are provided in a following control loop in order that the following control system is not unnecessarily followed to the high-frequency RRO.

  • Publication number: 20050207815
Abstract: In order to restrain the deterioration in assembling precision and prevent the formation of rust and deterioration in magnetic characteristics in a yoke to thereby obtain magnetic characteristics required for high-speed printing, a yoke having a core around which a coil is wound and a reference surface for assembly is made of permendur material, wherein the reference surface is polished so as to be flattened to complete the yoke. Accordingly, the reference surface of the yoke is precisely formed to be flat, thereby being capable of restraining the deterioration in assembling precision. The yoke is made of permendur material, so that the formation of rust on the yoke can be prevented. A plating layer that is a cause of magnetic resistance is not formed on the yoke, whereby the deterioration in magnetic characteristics at the yoke is prevented to thereby be capable of obtaining magnetic characteristics required for high-speed printing.

  • Publication number: 20050206634
Abstract: Provided is an image display apparatus capable of displaying a preferable image whose dark place contrast has a large value and whose color-reproducibility and gray-level reproducibility are excellent. A voltage level of a scanning selective signal is changed in response to a request from an outside or the like, so that a black level luminance is reduced to improve dark place contrast. In addition, when the voltage level of the scanning selective signal is changed, a conversion table for converting an input luminance into a modulation signal is changed to another conversion table. Therefore, for example, it is possible to maintain a display gray-level characteristic before and after the voltage level of the scanning selective signal is changed.

  • Publication number: 20050209856
Abstract: The user's waiting time in a dialogue system is effectively utilized. A dialogue apparatus makes a first dialogue with a user and judges whether a second dialogue should be started when a user's waiting time occurs during the first dialogue, For example, when information necessary to further continue the first dialogue is acquired via a network during the first dialogue, a waiting time occurs, If the waiting time is expected to be long, the second dialogue is made during the first waiting time, After this dialogue ends, the first dialogue is resumed, Thus, the waiting time during the dialogue becomes shorter, so that the connection time is effectively utilized.

  • Publication number: 20050205316
Abstract: As a framework member 50 of a vehicle deforms, a bracket attached to the framework member 50 also deforms. An inverter 20 which is attached to the framework member 50 via a bracket 60 also deforms. Thus, following the deformation of the framework member 50 of the vehicle, the bracket 60 and the inverter 20 deform accordingly to result in a rather small amount of relative deformation among the framework member 50, the bracket 60, and the inverter 20. In addition, a high voltage line 40 attached to the bracket 60 also deforms following the deformation of the bracket 60. Therefore, even in the event of an accident, the high voltage line 40 can be secured in a space reserved between framework member 50 and inverter 20, which significantly reduces the possibility of disconnection of the high voltage line 40.

  • Publication number: 20050207307
Abstract: According to the present invention, write pulses are optimized without being affected by the level of skill of an engineer. The present invention relates to the optimization of write pulses for an optical disk recording apparatus for recording an optical signal to, e.g., a DVD-R. A common write pulse which does not depend on various recording conditions is initially set. Pulse set positions affecting on recording quality are sequentially determined in accordance with an adjustment sequence, thus obtaining write pulses suitable for an actual operating environment. In each adjustment step, test recording is performed and a jitter value is measured. Based on a margin curve (quadratic approximation curve) of jitter values obtained by measurements, the optimum setting is obtained. This process is repeated every ordered pulse adjustment position. Finally, recording quality including margin is checked, thus optimizing the write pulses.
