  • Publication number: 20090270043
Abstract: A mobile communication system which is capable of, when carrying out mobile communication using a shared channel, increasing in efficiency of transmission timing of the data transmission rate request value to prevent wasteful power consumption and hence reduce power consumption. A mobile station apparatus of the mobile communication system measures CIR of the received signal from a base station apparatus at a CIR measuring section, and decides the data transmission rate request value corresponding to the measured CIR value at a rate request value deciding section. Also, it detects an error of the received signal at a CRC section, and, when no error is found, calculates a difference between the average data transmission rate from a base station apparatus and the data transmission request value at a rate request value transmission controlling section. Then, it transmits the data transmission rate request value to the base station apparatus only when the obtained difference is larger than a threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20090270086
Abstract: A wireless communication terminal apparatus, a network apparatus, a wireless communication system and a telephone call connecting method wherein the increasing of the number of indexes is suppressed and a preconfiguration is applied to a multi-call. A multi-call additional information deciding part (105) determines whether a plurality of indexes are used to set a preconfiguration. When determining that the plurality of indexes are used to set a preconfiguration, the multi-call additional information deciding part (105) sets SRB and TFCS. A control information producing part (106) produces control information including the preconfiguration type, the indexes and the information of the SRB and TFCS settings decided by the multi-call additional information deciding part (105). The produced control information is transmitted from a control information transmitting part (107) to a UE.

  • Publication number: 20090270100
Abstract: Disclosed are a radio communication terminal device for reducing a power consumption needed for releasing an RRC Connection after a position registration, a network device, a mobile communication system and a position registering method. In this position registering method, in case the RRC state of a UE is in an Idle state at ST501, the UE sets flag=1, whereas the RRC Connection is established between the UE and a UTRAN. The flag set at ST501 is sent at ST504 to the UTRAN, and the flag received by the UTRAN is stored at ST505. At ST507, an RA Update Accept received by the UTRAN is sent to the UE, and the RRC Connection is released in case the value of the flag stored at ST505 is 1. When the UE receives a DOWNLINK DIRECT TRANSFER, on the other hand, the RRC Connection is released in case the value of the flag set at ST501 is 1.

  • Publication number: 20090219902
Abstract: Provided are a radio communication terminal device, a radio communication control station device, and a radio communication method capable of effectively managing a radio resource allocated to a terminal and context such as registration information when the terminal compatible with a plurality of different RATs moves between the RATs. According to them, when the WLAN Network control unit (110) detects the WLAN In Service state while the terminal (100) is connected to a Cellular Network, a RAT switching control unit (109) controls to switch the connection from the Cellular Network to the WLAN Network. When a timer (1) in the Cellular Network control unit (101) has expired, a registration update request is transmitted to the Cellular Network by using the WLAN and the Cellular Network exchange station updates the registration, thereby holding the context such as the registration information in the Cellular Network.

  • Publication number: 20090186614
Abstract: It is possible to provide a radio communication terminal device, a radio communication base station device, and a radio communication method capable of rapidly completing a handover even during DRX/DTX. In the devices and the method, a terminal (100) transmits a quality measurement result to a base station (150) at an Active interval. Here, the terminal (100) sets the DRX/DTX interval to a short interval since performance of a handover is predicted. The base station (150) which has received the quality measurement result transmitted from the terminal (100) recognizes that the terminal has set the DRX/DTX interval to a short interval and transmits a handover instruction to the terminal (100) at the Active interval, considering the shortened DRX/DTX interval.

  • Publication number: 20090016264
Abstract: There is disclosed a technology in which a packet to be sent to a mobile terminal (an MN), distributed from a correspondent node (a CN), can surely reach the MN even in a situation in which the MN is moving. According to the technology, identification information of a plurality of access routers (ARs) 300 potentially currently connected to the MN is added to an IP packet to be transmitted from a CN 500 to an MN 200. When the AR receives this IP packet, the AR judges whether or not the MN is connected thereunder. If the MN exists under the AR, the IP packet is transmitted to the MN. On the other hand, if any MN does not exist under the AR, the IP packet is transferred to another AR based on the identification information added to the IP packet. As a result, the IP packet is successively transferred between the plurality of ARs so that the IP packet can be passed to the MN under the AR currently connected to the MN.

  • Publication number: 20090011795
Abstract: Provided are a radio communication base station device, a radio communication terminal device, and a radio communication system capable of reducing the processing load of a base station and an access gateway in a cell reselection process. When desynchronization between a terminal (150) and a source base station is detected, the terminal (150) performs a narrow-region cell search for an adjacent base station connected directly to the source base station. If no adjacent base station is detected, a wide-region cell search is performed for other than the adjacent base station. A base station detected is made as a target base station and a cell update is requested. The source base station transmits terminal information to the access gateway after a timer has counted up the time required for the narrow-region cell search at the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20080311923
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for establishing a radio bearer between a network element terminating radio resource control protocol and a mobile terminal. The invention provides RNC for establishing a radio bearer between the RNC and a mobile terminal, especially adapted mobile terminals and a system comprising the network element and at least one mobile terminal. In order to reduce the delays implied by the signaling in the procedure the invention proposes two mechanisms. The first mechanism aims at reducing the delay implied by setting up the radio link for the radio bearer by preconfiguring a pool of resources comprising a set of at least radio bearer configuration and making the available radio bearer configurations known to the mobile terminals. The second mechanism aims at avoiding the delay implied by the explicit assignment of a radio network temporary identifier by signaling a set of available identifiers from which the mobile terminal may choose an identifier.

  • Patent number: 7460880
Abstract: An allocation section 101 in a base station apparatus of the present invention sets the transmission rate of a transmit signal for a communication terminal apparatus based on a DRC signal transmitted from that communication terminal apparatus. A power margin information detector 117 detects power margin information from a demodulated signal generated by a demodulator 115, and, using that power margin information, a power setting section 118 makes a setting so as to give the minimum transmission power value at which received signal characteristics in each communication terminal apparatus meet the desired quality. Using the set transmission power value, the base station apparatus transmits a transmit signal of the set transmission rate to a communication terminal apparatus.
