  • Publication number: 20050134519
Abstract: A plurality of small loop antenna cells 61, 62 and 63 are magnetically coupled to an antenna coil 8 of a non-contact type data carrier 3. In the plurality of small loop antenna cells, the directions of the magnetic moments of the signals transmitted to the non-contact type data carrier 3 are opposite to each other, the sum of the magnetic moments generated from all the small loop antenna cells 61 to 63 is zero and a conductor forming a short ring pattern 67 is provided collectively for the plurality of small loop antenna cells. Thus, imbalance caused between the small loop antenna cells 61 to 63 can be compensated for by the short ring pattern 67.

  • Patent number: 6890046
Abstract: The present invention provides a technique that prevents a shift of a driving waveform due to accumulation of errors in a process of generating the driving waveform to drive driving elements on a print head. The technique of the present invention successively sums up a plurality of gradient data at a preset calculation period to give a result of summation and carries out digital-to-analog (D-A) conversion with regard to only specific upper columns in the result of summation in synchronism with the preset calculation period, so as to generate a driving waveform. Each gradient data represents a local gradient of the driving waveform and is stored in a memory. In the process of generating the driving waveform, the technique of the present invention corrects the result of summation to a preset value under a predetermined condition. One preferable embodiment clears specific lower bits in the result of summation in synchronism with a floor signal.

  • Patent number: 6758544
Abstract: In an ink jet printer, a control unit converts externally provided printing data into jetting data associated with a size of dot to be printed. A drive signal generator generates a drive signal including a plurality of drive pulses. In a printing head, a pressure chamber is communicated with a nozzle. A pressure generating element varies pressure inside of the pressure chamber when at least one of the drive pulses is applied. A decoder decodes the jetting data into pulse select information in accordance with a predetermined conversion relationship. A switcher selects at least one of the drive pulses to be applied to the pressure generating element in accordance with the pulse select information. Pattern data defines the conversion relationship. A common signal line transfers the jetting data and the pattern data from the control unit to the printing head.

  • Publication number: 20030218651
Abstract: A printing device that facilitates processes requested in relation to a print recording medium reservoir. When a contact detecting switch 25 is turned on by a proximate ink cartridge CA, a personal computer PC identifies the proximate ink cartridge CA. The personal computer PC, in the event that the duration of sustained proximity of the proximate ink cartridge CA is longer than a predetermined time interval Tref, reads out the remaining quantity of ink from the memory device module M of the proximate ink cartridge CA and displays this on an external display device 40. In the event that the duration of sustained proximity is shorter than predetermined time interval Tref, the personal computer PC drives the carriage 101 so as to move an ink cartridge CA installed on carriage 101 corresponding to the proximate ink cartridge CA to a replacement opening 14.
