  • Publication number: 20200098104
Abstract: A coefficient calculator calculates a correlation coefficient representing a correlation between a normal frame, which is imaged in a state in which normal light is applied to a subject, and a special frame, which is imaged in a state in which special light is applied to the subject; and a processing unit that applies image processing to the special frame so that a part in which the correlation coefficient is high and a part in which the correlation coefficient is low are displayed differently in the special frame. Further provided are: a first determination unit that calculates, for each pixel or each area of the normal frame, a first determination value representing a probability that a predetermined site is imaged; and a second determination unit that calculates, for each pixel or each area of the special frame, a second determination value representing a probability that a predetermined site is imaged.

  • Publication number: 20200043160
Abstract: The present technology relates to a medical image processing apparatus, a medical image processing method, and a program that permit superimposition of images at an appropriate mixing ratio without deletion of detailed information. An acquisition section, a superimposition ratio calculation section, and a superimposition processing section are included. The acquisition section acquires a normal frame captured with normal light irradiated on a subject and a special frame captured with special light irradiated on the subject. The superimposition ratio calculation section calculates, on the basis of an intensity value of the special frame, a superimposition ratio indicating a ratio at which the normal frame and the special frame are superimposed. The superimposition processing section performs a superimposition process of superimposing the normal frame and the special frame on the basis of the superimposition ratio. The present technology is applicable to an image processing apparatus for medical use.

  • Publication number: 20170209031
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a special light image acquisition unit that acquires a special light image having information in a specific wavelength band, a generation unit that generates depth information at a predetermined position in a living body using the special light image, and a detection unit that detects a predetermined region using the depth information. The image processing apparatus further includes a normal light image acquisition unit that acquires a normal light image having information in a wavelength band of white light. The specific wavelength band is, for example, infrared light. The generation unit calculates a difference in a depth direction between the special light image and the normal light image to generate depth information at the predetermined position. The detection unit detects a position in which the depth information is a predetermined threshold or more as a bleeding point. The present technology is applicable to an endoscope.

  • Patent number: 9715721
Abstract: Focus detection is to determine whether an image is in focus or not. Focus detection is able to be used for improving camera autofocus performance. Focus detection by using only one feature does not provide enough reliability to distinguish in-focus and slightly out-of-focus images. A focus detection algorithm of combining multiple features used to evaluate sharpness is described herein. A large image data set with in-focus and out-of-focus images is used to develop the focus detector for separating the in-focus images from out-of-focus images. Many features such as iterative blur estimation, FFT linearity, edge percentage, wavelet energy ratio, improved wavelet energy ratio, Chebyshev moment ratio and chromatic aberration features are able to be used to evaluate sharpness and determine big blur images.
