  • Patent number: 4638209
Abstract: An ion beam generating apparatus is used together with a vacuum chamber. The ion beam generating apparatus has an anode assembly arranged inside the vacuum chamber, a gas supply mechanism for supplying a gas into the vicinity of the anode assembly, a temperature control mechanism for controlling a temperature of an apex of the anode assembly, and a cooling mechanism for cooling at least part of the anode assembly.

  • Patent number: 4477899
Abstract: A digital data transmission system with a transmultiplexer arrangement for interconnection of a time division multiplex line and a packet multiplex line. The transmultiplexer has a section which converts data for each of a plurality of terminals on the time division multiplex line in the unit of a packet, for allocation on the packet multiplex line, and a section which identifies the time position of each data unit on the time division multiplex line, prepares a specific packet containing the position information and allocates the specific packet before the data packet on the packet multiplex line. The transmultiplexer also has a section which periodically allocates data on the packet multiplex line allotted with a specific packet containing position information of a terminal before a data packet corresponding to the terminal on the time division multiplex line in accordance with the position information of the terminal.

  • Patent number: 4453247
Abstract: In a speech packet switching system, an input speech signal to a speech packet transmitting station is converted to a digital signal to form speech data blocks, which are discriminated to talkspurt blocks and silence blocks, and only the talkspurt speech blocks are packetized and transmitted through a speech packet switching network. In a receiving station, a series of speech packets received in one talkspurt period are temporarily stored in a variance absorbing buffer to compensate for a variance of transmission delay times resulting from the transmission through said speech packet switching network to add variance absorbing times to the speech packets depending on the transmission delay times of the respective speech packets. Then the speech packets are sequentially reproduced.

  • Patent number: 4403322
Abstract: A voice signal converting device is adapted for a digital communication network which handles digitized voice signals and data signals simultaneously or equally. A bit for discriminating whether a signal in communication is a voice signal or a data signal is applied in a digital signal channel. The voice signal converting device is connected to a digital communication path to detect the discrimination bit from the incoming signal in such a manner that when a bit group corresponding to the discrimination bit represents the voice signal, the bit group is converted into a predeterminedly correlated bit group and delivered out and when the bit group corresponding to the discrimination bit represents the data signal, this bit group is delivered out in its original form.

  • Patent number: 4163219
Abstract: A remote control device applicable to an electronic apparatus provided with a power supply voltage stabilizing unit of switching type for the on-off control of power supplied to the electronic apparatus. The device comprises an electronic switch including a single thyristor or a plurality of transistors controlled by a remote control signal. The circuit operation of at least one of circuits constituting the power supply voltage stabilizing unit is disabled by turning on the electronic switch thereby stopping the power supply to the electronic apparatus, and when the electronic switch is turned off, the circuit operation is restored to restart the power supply to the electronic apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4023655
Abstract: The disclosed brake includes a brake wheel directly connected to an electric motor for an elevator car, and a pair of opposite brake shoes resiliently engaging the brake wheel through respective brake linings applied to the shoes and responsive to the energization of an electromagnet to permit the rotation of the motor. Each shoe is provided on that side remote from the brake lining with a heater for continuously heating the lining to prevent it from becoming wet.
