  • Patent number: 5959737
Abstract: A sheet-testing apparatus including kneading rolls, a frame feeder, sheet applicator, foreign material detector, a frame with a light transparent window and a cutter for cutting a sheet. A sheet thickness detection apparatus outputs an electric signal to a memory. A kneading apparatus has a pair of heating rolls separated by a gap. The directions and speeds of rotations of the rolls are adjustable. A sensor detects the gap and a bank sensor detects the condition of a bank in the gap. The distance between the rolls, their temperatures, rotations, and speeds are automatically controlled. A pair of blades peel a sheet from the sheet-winding roll. Material dropped through the gap between the heating rolls is returned to a point above the gap. A cutting device has a length of wire sprung onto a rolled sheet to sever the sheet. A heating roll cleaning device brings cleaning rolls into sliding engagement with the heating rolls.

  • Patent number: 5216321
Abstract: Disclosed is a shadow-mask type color cathode-ray tube comprising a faceplate having a curved inner surface which prevents degrouping and a substantially flat outer surface. In this color cathode-ray tube, the resolution is not deteriorated in the peripheral portion and an inespensive flat material is usable as a glass plate provided with a reflection reducing coating or a touch panel attached to the outer surface of the faceplate. Since a shadow mask supported with a tension applied thereto is usable, the positional deviation of the apertures due to the expansion of the shadow mask during operation is prevented.

  • Patent number: 5106711
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrophotographic sensitive member comprising a photoconductive amorphous silicon carbide layer. An amorphous silicon layer has superior abrasion resistance, heat resistance, antipollution property, photosensitive characteristic and the like. However, an amorphous silicon layer itself has a low dark resistance, so that dopants, such as boron, are added thereto but a dark resistance of 10.sup.12 .OMEGA..multidot.cm or more required for the case where it is used as an electrophotographic sensitive member has never been obtained. The present inventors have found before that an amorphous silicon carbide layer has a large carrier-mobility and photoconductivity and its dark resistance of 10.sup.13 .OMEGA..multidot.cm or more can be easily obtained regardless of the existence of dopants and furthermore an electrophotographic sensitive member, which can be positively and negatively charged by the selection of the dopants, can be obtained.
