Abstract: A heat developable light-sensitive element having reduced thermal fogging and improved light stability comprising a support having therein or in one or more layers thereon (a) an organic silver salt, (b) a light-sensitive silver halide or a compound capable of forming a light-sensitive silver halide upon reaction with the organic silver salt, (c) a reducing agent, and (d) an oxazolinone compound.

Abstract: In a method for forming an image in a thermally developable photosensitive material which comprises imagewise exposing a thermally developable photosensitive material comprising a support having thereon a layer containing at least (a) an organic silver salt; (b) a catalytic amount of a photosensitive silver halide or a compound capable of forming a silver halide upon reaction with the organic silver salt (a); (c) a reducing agent and (d) a binder and heating the thermally developable photosensitive material, the improvement which comprises stabilizing the image formed by contacting the photosensitive layer of the photosensitive material during or after the heating with a polymer film layer containing a compound represented by the following general formulaX C -- SH or X C = Sin which X represents the non-metallic atoms necessary for forming a heterocyclic ring.

Abstract: In a process for preparing organosilver carboxylates where an organic carboxylate aqueous solution is admixed with a water-soluble silver salt aqueous solution, a solvent which is difficultly soluble in water is present in the organic carboxylate aqueous solution. According to the process, organosilver carboxylates are obtained in the form of fine particles, which are useful for preparation of heat developable photographic materials.

Abstract: Dry stabilization of a silver halide photographic material is obtained by heating the silver halide photographic material to a temperature of at least 80.degree.C. in the presence of an organic iodine-containing compound, such as monoiodoacetic acid, isopropyl iodide, or iodocyclohexane. Preferably, the heating is carried out after the formation of an image on the material. The organic iodine-containing compound can be added to the silver halide emulsion in the molten state during the preparation of the emulsion. This method is especially effective when applied to silver halide photographic materials which contain silver halide grains at least 50 mol% of which consists of silver bromide.

Abstract: Dry stabilization of a silver halide photographic material, which comprises heating a silver halide photographic material containing silver halide grains at least 50 mol% of which consists of silver bromide to a temperature of at least 80.degree.C. in the presence of 0.1 to 33 mol%, based on the silver halide, of an onium compound having an iodine ion or an anion containing iodine, such as methyltriethylammonium iodide, N-methylpyridinium iodide, or trimethylsulfonium iodide. Preferably, the heating is carried out after the formation of an image on the photographic material.

Abstract: A thermodevelopable light-sensitive material having a reduced frequency to fog formation by heat, comprising a support and at least one layer containing (a) an organic silver salt, (b) a catalytic amount of a light-sensitive silver halide or a compound capable of forming a light-sensitive silver halide by reaction with the organic silver salt (a), (c) a reducing agent (d) a binder, and (e) an N-haloacetamide. In order to increase the transparency of the thermodevelopable photographic layer of the material and the density of the image and to improve its preservability, a topcoating of polymer can be formed on the light-sensitive layer.

Abstract: A heat developable light-sensitive material having increased transparency comprising, on a support, an organic silver salt, a light-sensitive silver halide, a reducing agent, a binder and an overcoat layer consisting essentially of a polymer.
