  • Patent number: 8020869
Abstract: A game apparatus includes a game execution unit, casing, card arrangement panel, luminator that illuminates the panel, sensor unit that receives light from the panel and generates image data, and recognition unit to separate data of each card, and detect positions of the cards. Each of the plurality of cards is printed with a game character on one of its surfaces and formed on the other of the surfaces with a code pattern including data relating the game character. The sensor unit generates data of the image including the code patterns of the cards on the panel. The recognition unit separates data of each card, and detects position on play field of cards arranged on the panel, from the data of the image and supplies information thus obtained to the execution unit. The execution unit executes a game in response to card manipulation by an operator.

  • Patent number: 7858983
Abstract: An electrochromic display is disclosed which comprises an array-side substrate (10) wherein a TFT (14) and a pixel electrode (15) connected with the TFT (14) are formed, a color filter-side substrate (50) wherein a counter electrode (53) is formed, and an electrolyte layer (80) injected between the array-side substrate (10) and the color filter-side substrate (50). In this electrochromic display, the TFT (14) is formed to have an area not less than 30% of the area of the pixel, thereby supplying a larger current. Consequently, oxidation-reduction reaction in the electrochromic phenomenon proceeds at a higher rate, thereby enabling a high-speed response.

  • Patent number: 7830582
Abstract: An electrochromic display is disclosed which comprises an array-side substrate (10) in which a pixel electrode (15) and an electrochromic layer (30) are formed, a color filter-side substrate (50) in which a counter electrode (53) and an electrochromic layer (54) are formed, and an electrolytic layer (80) injected between the array-side substrate (10) and the color filter-side substrate (50). By forming a partition wall (23) on the periphery of the pixel electrode (15) and the electrochromic layer (30), there can be prevented short-circuits between pixel electrodes (15) and short-circuits between electrochromic layers (30) between adjacent pixels, thereby realizing an electrochromic display with higher precision.

  • Patent number: 7431297
Abstract: A card game apparatus includes a large-size panel display, a main control unit that controls screens on the large-size panel display, and a plurality of terminal apparatuses that are communicably connected to the main control unit. A game player purchases an integrated circuit card and, for example, eleven player cards on each of which, a soccer player's photograph is printed. When the game player arranges the player cards on a player card arrangement panel of one of the terminal apparatuses, card data recorded on the back of the player card will be read by an internal image sensor. Then, a team is organized by the player cards, and a game starts. The game player can direct a player's position and formation by changing placement of the player card.

  • Publication number: 20080085775
Abstract: A data recording medium for use in a game device comprises a first printed layer in which a first code pattern, which is detected by a first code pattern detecting unit of the game device, is printed and a second printed layer in which a second code pattern, which is detected by a second code pattern detecting unit of the game device, is printed. The second printed layer is overlaid on the first printed layer. Data based on a combination of the first and second code patterns is recorded in the first and second printed layers so that the data is recognizable to the game device as data intrinsic to the data recording medium. The game device detects the first and second code patterns by the first and second code pattern detecting units to make progress of a game according to the data.

  • Patent number: 7353719
Abstract: A pressure sensor comprising a plurality of sensor parts arranged in matrix. A first electrode being connected with first wiring and a second electrode being connected with second wiring are disposed oppositely through a cavity part in the sensor part. The second electrode bends to the first electrode side in response to a pressure from a specimen and touches the first electrode upon application of a pressure of a specified level or above. When the specimen is pressed against a pressure detecting region, both electrodes touch each other at a sensor part corresponding to a protrusion of the specimen and are separated at a sensor part corresponding to a recess. When a scanning signal is fed from a scanning circuit to one wiring and presence of a signal flowing through the second wiring is detected by a sensing circuit, a pressure being applied to each sensor part can be detected.
