  • Patent number: 5686836
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a weak magnetic field in a background D.C. magnetic field such as the earth's magnetic field or the like includes a magnetic pickup portion that is supported by a support mechanism which does not impede minute movement in the x- and y-axis direction. A pair of A.C. linear gradient magnetic fields whose directions of gradients are parallel to the x-axis and y-axis, respectively, are used for obtaining reference signals for sensing the position of the pickup portion. The frequencies of the A.C. linear gradient magnetic fields are set to be sufficiently higher than the frequency of the weak magnetic field that is to be measured. The A.C. linear gradient magnetic fields are provided by A.C. current flowing in two pairs of linear conductors which are perpendicular to each other.

  • Patent number: 4835648
Abstract: A gas insulated switchgear includes a hermetic vessel for containing therein a switching apparatus and an electrically insulating gas for insulating the switching apparatus. An electric arc detector disposed on the hermetic vessel detects an electric arc generated within the hermetic vessel and generates a signal upon detecting the arc. A control circuit prevents a trip signal from being supplied to one circuit interrupter in response to an arc signal and a trip signal for another circuit interrupter.

  • Patent number: 4718242
Abstract: A chemical heat pump utilizing a hydrating agent as the working fluid is disclosed. The clathrate formation reaction of a hydrating agent such as flon 31 or 22 is used as one of the two equilibrium reactions of the working fluid so that heat can be pumped up across a temperature difference greater than that between the two heat sources. The heat pump comprises four container means in which reactions take place so that the regeneration process can be effected simultaneously with the heating or refrigerating process in which the temperature of the thermal medium to be utilized, e.g., water, is raised or lowered. The working fluid flows either in continuous one-directional circulation through the four container means, or in alternate directions therebetween. In addition to the two heat sources at two different temperatures, such as waste heat and open air, the heat pump further comprises gas pipes which allow the free movement of the working fluid between the connected container means.

  • Patent number: 4688136
Abstract: A protective device in a gas insulated switchgear having a housing providing a gas chamber containing a gaseous medium and insulating a bus bar circuit inside the gas chamber. The protective device includes a fault detector outside the gas chamber and connected to the bus bar circuit to detect a fault and an arc detector inside the gas chamber to detect an arc generated upon the occurrence of a fault. A circuit interrupter connected in the bus bar circuit is operated responsive to the concurrent operation of the detectors.

  • Patent number: 4615252
Abstract: A touch control apparatus for an electronic keyboard instrument, comprises a sensor having: an elongated insulating sheet having a set of conductive pattern films on a surface thereof, the elongated insulating sheet being folded and the set of conductive pattern films being formed to be spaced apart from each other; and a pressure-sensitive element sandwiched in a space defined by the folded elongated insulating sheet to be in contact with the conductive pattern films. The pressure sensitive element is deformed when a key of the instrument is depressed to deliver an electrical output through the conductive films representing the magnitude of the key depression. The apparatus is superior in easiness of handling the sensor and of assembling the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4612495
Abstract: A generator circuitry for connecting a generator to or disconnecting the same from a bus connected to a power supply. The circuitry comprising a first disconnector, a breaker and a second disconnector connected in series with one another between the bus and the generator further includes a detecting circuit to detect the generator output and an operating circuit to prohibit an action of opening the second disconnector during detection of the generator output by the detecting circuit. Since the disconnector is opened in the state where the generator output is not detected, the disconnector is released from the duty to interrupt the charge current flowing to the interelectrode capacitance of the breaker, whereby the use of a small-sized disconnector is rendered possible.
