  • Publication number: 20060152419
Abstract: There is provided a radio apparatus usable in a frequency band of use comprising a feeder circuit, a first antenna element and a second antenna element. The first antenna element having a first end connected to the feeder circuit and a grounded second end includes a forward path and a backward path short-circuiting to each other at a shorting bridge, and is a half wavelength long of a first frequency in the band of use. The distance between the first end and the second end is no greater than one-tenth wavelength of the first frequency. The second antenna element begins with the first end, shares a part of the forward path with the first antenna element, diverges from the forward path at a diverging point before the shorting bridge, comes to an open end and is one-fourth wavelength long of a second frequency in the band of use.

  • Patent number: 7062628
Abstract: A set of interconnected storage systems supporting different types of storage devices and different performance attributes are intelligently applied to process types, such as journal entries. The processes are ranked according to a predetermined priority ranking. Storage devices in the storage system having similar performance attributes are pooled and ranked according to their performance attributes. The highest priority process is matched with available logical devices from available storage pools that rank highest in the processes performance priority. A cache is similarly allocated from the highest ranking access speed logical devices.

  • Publication number: 20060095696
Abstract: A system is provided for storage of journal data from a primary site to a secondary site with a predefined quality of service. In one implementation, the primary storage system stores information for updating data stored on the primary disk array in the form of a history of updates made to the data. The primary storage system is configured to transfer this journal information to the secondary storage system. The user can specify the quality of service desired using a variety of measures, for example, a recovery point objective or a recovery time objective. In response, a copy manager within one of the storage systems determines the capacity of the various primary and secondary volumes, and determines the copy rate available, typically dependent upon the bandwidth between the primary and secondary systems. The copy manager then copies journal data to the remote site where it is stored.

  • Publication number: 20050235016
Abstract: A method and apparatus which provide solutions for avoiding journal overflow in after and before journal methods of a backup and recovery system used with a storage system. The after journal method solutions, which are conducted when the amount of free space reaches a threshold, include periodically taking a new snapshot and deleting the oldest journal, periodically taking a new logical snapshot and deleting the oldest journal, stopping the taking journal entries when the journal volume is full, and stopping the taking journal entries when the journal volume is full and then switching to bitmap management. The before journal method solution, which is conducted when the amount of free space reaches a threshold, includes applying wrap-around overwriting to overwrite the oldest journal entry by the newest journal entry.

  • Patent number: 6946994
Abstract: The present invention relates mainly to a small dielectric antenna capable of obtaining a good VSWR characteristic even if it is placed in the vicinity of a grounding pattern when mounted on a circuit board. A dielectric antenna is formed in which a feed point of an antenna element 13 having a resonance frequency set to a first frequency in a first frequency band and a feed point of an antenna element 14 having a resonance frequency set to a second frequency are connected to an external feed terminal 12b, and an open stub 15 connected to the antenna element 14 in the vicinity of the feed point. The open stub 15 is provided to enable resonance at each of frequencies to be used while the lengths of the antenna elements 13 and 14 are shorter than ordinary lengths determined according to the wavelengths of the frequency to be used.

  • Patent number: 6788259
Abstract: A flexible substrate having a meandering antenna element and a matching circuit formed thereon is wound within an antenna cap and mounted on a terminal body. A rod-like antenna is arranged extensible within the flexible substrate. If the rod-like antenna is withdrawn, a linear antenna element is coupled by a capacitive coupling with the matching circuit formed on the flexible substrate. Also, if the rod-like antenna is returned into the terminal body, the capacitive coupling between the linear antenna element and the matching circuit is released, and the meandering antenna element is coupled by a capacitive coupling with the matching circuit on the flexible substrate.
