  • Patent number: 5835475
Abstract: An optical pickup apparatus has an optical system and an objective lens. The optical system has a semiconductor laser and an optical element. The semiconductor laser has an astigmatic difference in which an oscillated light beam has a light emission point in a semiconductor junction plane different from that in a plane normal to the semiconductor junction plane. The optical element is arranged in a light path of a light beam radiated from the semiconductor laser for over-correcting the astigmatic aberration of the light beam radiated from the semiconductor laser. The objective lens converges the light beam radiated by the light source via the optical element.

  • Patent number: 5186906
Abstract: A catalytic combustion apparatus for gas turbine or an exhaust gas purifier apparatus comprises a honeycomb structure disposed in a flow tube. A ring-shaped fringe region of the lower-course end face of the honeycomb structure abuts against a ring-shaped second supporting member. The second supporting member has a plurality of passages which allow a fluid to flow out downstream from the fringe region. In this arrangement, the fluid from the fringe region is caused to flow downstream through these passages. Accordingly, tensile thermal stress is reduced, so that the honeycomb structure is prevented from being damaged thereby. Since the honeycomb structure is supported by the second supporting member in planar contact therewith, moreover, stress is prevented from being concentrated on part of the structure. Thus, the honeycomb structure can be securely supported without being damaged by any stress.

  • Patent number: 5040195
Abstract: In a cellular-type communication system, a receiving apparatus of a mobile station which has received a forward control channel message recovers word synchronization of the received data. More particularly, the receiving apparatus converts serial FOCC data into a 8-bit parallel data signal while generating 8-bit parallel synchronization data indicative of a word synchronizing position in the parallel data above, and thus applies these two parallel data to a microcomputer. The microcomputer detects the synchronizing position of the synchronization data and then determines effectiveness of those data among the data signal that follow the corresponding bit position, for storing them in a memory.

  • Patent number: 5027505
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of producing electronic components such as LED displays and hybrid IC's from a broad supply frame. The frame comprises a parallel pair of elongate side bands, and a plurality of unit circuit boards integrally incorporated in the frame by means of connecting webs and arranged between the pair of side bands at a predetermined interval therealong. Various process steps such as chip bonding and wire bonding are performed with respect to the individual circuit boards while they are still in the frame. In a final step, each unit circuit board or electronic component is separated from the frame. The frame may be provided with an identification pattern to identify the type of unit circuit boards incorporated in the frame.

  • Patent number: 4985212
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for supporting a ceramic honeycomb element which is anisotropic in modulus of elasticity and in strength. The support apparatus comprises a shock absorber which is interposed between a casing and the honeycomb element so that a force of pressure acts on the honeycomb element in high-strength directions of the honeycomb structure thereof.

  • Patent number: 4637452
Abstract: A mold apparatus for use in a continuous casting system, has a pair of parallel longer frames disposed to oppose each other and lined at their opposing surfaces, and a pair of shorter frames disposed between opposing ends of the longer frames and lined at their opposing surfaces, the longer and shorter frames in cooperation defining a rectangular mold cavity. A core frame is disposed between the longitudinal centers of the longer frames such as to divide the mold cavity into two sections. The core frame is split into two segments in the thicknesswise direction and has a substantially T-shaped configuration constituted by a vertical portion disposed between the longer frames and projecting downwardly beyond the lower ends of the longer frames and top wing portions projected laterally from the top end of the vertical portion and resting on the upper surfaces of the longer frames.

  • Patent number: 4456052
Abstract: A continuous casting mold for casting strands is mounted in a mold table or other suitable mold mounting arrangement and is ocsillated by means of oscillation levers. The oscillation levers are mounted both at the mold table and also at a bearing block. To compensate the bearing play arising at the bearing locations a power or force-applying device is provided between the mold table and the bearing block.

  • Patent number: 4349007
Abstract: The disclosed ignition device for a four-cylinder engine includes an ignition unit performing the ignition function in response to ignition signals. A rotor and a stator disposed in a metallic housing to serve to generate the ignition signals include four protrusions and three protuberances respectively. By rendering the number of the protuberances smaller than that of the protrusions, a space is left in the housing. Two bearing seats are disposed in the space at the opening of the housing and the ignition unit is screwed to the bearing seats.
