    Abstract: An image capturing apparatus includes an image sensor section and a signal processor for processing an image input from the image sensor section via a signal line. A control arithmetic unit switches the image sensor section to a recognition mode or a learning mode. The image sensor section includes an image capturing section for generating an image, and a sensor recognition section for performing, in the recognition mode, recognition processing by inputting the image to a first learning model. The signal processor includes a recognition section for performing recognition processing by inputting the image to a second learning model. The image sensor section further includes a sensor learning section for updating, in the learning mode, the first learning model, based on a recognition result obtained by the second recognition unit and input from the signal processor, and an image generated by the image capturing unit.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to a low-resistance a multi-layer electrode and method of making a multi-layer electrode. Silicon is deposited on a substrate to form a top silicon layer. Nickel is deposited onto the top silicon layer to form a nickel layer. The substrate is annealed for a first time period and at a first temperature to form a di-nickel silicide layer with a remainder silicon layer between the di-nickel silicide layer and the substrate. Unreacted nickel of the nickel layer is removed to expose the di-nickel silicide layer. The substrate is annealed for a second time period and at a second temperature to form a nickel monosilicide layer from the di-nickel silicide layer and the remainder silicon layer such that the nickel monosilicide layer forms between a remainder di-nickel silicide layer and the substrate. The remainder di-nickel silicide layer and nickel monosilicide layer form a multi-layer electrode.

The apparatus includes a first mode of executing a global shutter function so as to start exposure for each pixel included in a predetermined region of the image sensor at substantially the same timing, and a second mode of starting exposure for the respective pixels of the image sensor at different timings. A change in a pixel count of image data read out from the image sensor in accordance with information concerning an exposure time set by a user is larger in the first mode than in the second mode.
