  • Patent number: 5180476
Abstract: A method of producing by sputtering an In-O, Sn-O, Zn-O, Cd-Sn-O or Cd-In-O based transparent conductive film according to the present invention uses the addition of a donor element, if needed. The sputtering is carried out by maintaining an intensity of a magnetic field on a surface of a target at 600 Oe or greater as well as by charging the target with a DC electric field superimposed by an RF electric field. An apparatus for producing an In-O, Sn-O, Zn-O, Cd-Sn-O or Cd-In-O base transparent conductive film uses the addition of a donor element, if needed. The apparatus has a vacuum chamber adapted to support therein a substrate and a target in an opposed relationship for forming by sputtering the transparent conductive film on the substrate by plasma discharge generated therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5037937
Abstract: Novel polycarbonate resins, a process for production of said polycarbonate resins, and compositions containing said polycarbonate resins and glass fibers as major components are disclosed. The polycarbonate resins have: (1) a repeating unit (I) represented by the general formula (A): ##STR1## and a repeating unit (II) represented by the general formula ##STR2## (all the symbols are as defined in the appended claims); (2) a pentahalogenophenoxy group as the end group thereof; and (3) a viscosity average molecular weight of at least 5,000. The polycarbonate resins are excellent in all of flame retardance, fluidity, impact resistance and transparency. Thus the polycarbonate resins and compositions containing them are useful for production of, e.g., moldings for which all the above characteristics are required.

  • Patent number: 4918155
Abstract: A process for producing polycarbonate is disclosed, comprising reacting a halogenated bisphenol-containing organic dihydroxy compound and a carbonate-forming derivative in a liquid medium in the presence of pentahalogenophenol as a molecular weight modifier. This polycarbonate is superior in flame retardance, impact resistance and fluidity, and further in transparency.

  • Patent number: 4888410
Abstract: Novel polycarbonate and a process for production thereof are disclosed. This polycarbonate has a main chain comprising a repeating unit of the general formula (A) shown below, a pentahalogenophenoxy group of the general formula (B) shown below at the terminal thereof, the molar fraction of the pentahalogenophenoxy group being within the specified range, and a viscosity average molecular weight of at least 15,000. ##STR1## (wherein all the symbols are as defined in the appended claims). The polycarbonate is excellent in all of flame retardance, impact resistance, fluidity and transparency, and thus is suitable for production of various products such as home electric appliance and so on.

  • Patent number: 4633139
Abstract: A plasma display panel with quick firing nature and high speed scanning having a plurality of display cells defined by parallel cathode electrodes and parallel anode electrodes perpendicular to said cathode electrodes. The cells along a cathode electrode discharge simultaneously either strongly or weakly according to the currents in the anode electrodes, and said current in the anode electrodes is switched according to the picture pattern to be displayed. A strongly discharged cell provides a bright large discharge which is visible through a cathode electrode, and a weakly discharged cell provides a dark small discharge which is blinded by a cathode electrode itself and is invisible, but merely functions as a seed cell for firing adjacent cells. As all the cells function both as display cells and seed cells, quick firing of cells or high speed scanning of light spots along the anode electrodes is accomplished although no specific seed electrode for mere seed discharge is provided.

  • Patent number: 4378575
Abstract: A tape cassette device comprises a cassette case in which a stationary reel with a tape guide path is housed, and an endless tape wound on the outer circumference of said stationary reel, the innermost part drawn out along said tape guide path to the inside of said stationary reel to be wound on the outer circumference of said stationary reel. Said cassette case has a bottom plate with a plurality of first roller insertin openings formed along the outer circumference of said stationary reel in a spaced relationship. A blind with a plurality of second roller inserting openings is provided on the bottom plate to be pivotable between a first position where it closes said first roller inserting openings and a second position where said second roller inserting openings are aligned with said first roller inserting openings.
