  • Publication number: 20030012031
Abstract: A vehicle lamp. A lamp chamber is partitioned by a lamp body in a vessel-like shape and by a front face lens, a reflector is attachedly inserted with a light source and is contained in the lamp chamber, and an aiming mechanism is interposed between the lamp body and the reflector for supporting the reflector inclinably to the lamp body. The reflector is inclined by rotating an aiming screw supported by a screw inserting hole provided at the lamp body. A rear end portion of the aiming screw projects to the rear side of the lamp body and includes an integrated crown gear made of a metal. A disk face of the gear is provided with a raised wrench engaging portion for engaging with an L-shaped wrench to thereby operate to rotate the aiming screw by using the L-shaped wrench extending from the side of the lamp piece. Aiming screw adjustments can be carried out even when there is no rear space behind the lamp piece. The wrench engaging portion can be formed simply.

  • Patent number: 5944415
Abstract: In a vehicle lamp, an upper wall and a lower wall are extended forwardly from the upper and lower edge of the main reflecting surface of a concave reflector in such a manner that the upper wall and the lower wall are substantially in parallel with the optical axis of the main reflecting surface, the upper wall has an inner surface in which a step surface is formed, and a mirror-finished flat surface is formed in the inner surface of the lower wall.

  • Patent number: 5908828
Abstract: The present invention provides synthetic peptide derivatives represented by the formulaP.sup.1 -R.sup.1 -P.sup.2wherein P.sup.1 is a peptide having an amino acid sequence in the SEQ ID NO.:1 of the Sequence Listing, or analogues thereof; P.sup.2 is a peptide having an amino acid sequence in the SEQ ID NO.:2 of the Sequence Listing, or analogues thereof; R.sup.1 denotes a linker with a property that does not interfere with the activity of the each peptide P.sup.1 and P.sup.2 to bind N-terminal end of the peptides P.sup.1 and P.sup.2.The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of bone related diseases comprising said peptide derivatives, or a therapeutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The present invention also provides a method of treating bone related diseases in a mammal comprising administering thereto an effective amount of said peptide derivatives, or therapeutically acceptable salts thereof.

  • Patent number: 4963794
Abstract: A vehicle cornering headlamp system in which the direction of illumination of the headlamps of an automobile are made to follow the actual direction of movement of the vehicle, except that the direction of illumination is returned to the straight-ahead direction more quickly than it is moved away therefrom, thereby more accurately following the usual eye movement of the driver. For this purpose, a control signal is generated which has a pulse width indicative of the steering angle but which has a variation characteristic with respect to steering angle which is larger when the steering wheel is turned back towards the straight-ahead position than when the steering wheel is turned away from the straight-ahead position.

  • Patent number: 4943893
Abstract: An automotive illumination system with which, when steering the vehicle around a curve or corner, both the path along which the vehicle is to travel and the direction straight ahead of the vehicle are sufficiently illuminated. Four headlamps are provided. Two of the headlamps, preferably the outer two, have directions of illumination fixed in the straight-ahead direction of the vehicle. The other two headlamps have directions of illumination which are controlled in accordance with the steering angle of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4908560
Abstract: In a vehicle cornering lamp system, a control signal having a pulse width corresponding to a steering angle is periodically produced, and the amount of position shift between the actual direction of illumination of the headlamps and the target direction of illumination determined from the steering angle is detected according to the control signal thus produced. An electric motor is driven to change the direction of illumination of the headlamps so that the amount of position shift becomes zero, that is, the direction of illumination of the headlamps is linearly changed with the electric motor while following the steering angle.

  • Patent number: 3994587
Abstract: Densitometer for quantitative determination of the content of a sample spot on a TLC plate or the like, wherein dualwavelength zigzag scanning is conducted on the spot. Light reflected and transmitted by the sample is received by photometers, and compensation based on Kubelka-Munk's theoretical equations is made on the photometer output so that the output is substantially proportional to the quantity of the substance in the spot being scanned.
