  • Publication number: 20010007313
Abstract: For conversion of harmful compound in contaminated liquid into harmless compound by use of reactant, a plurality of agitators are arranged in a vertical superposition within a closed agitation chamber and, after the contaminated liquid is charged into the agitation chamber, the agitators are driven for rotation at a high speed in a rage from 10,000 to 18,000 rpm in order to create a field of super critical conditions in which free radicals are liberated from the harmful compound and coupled by the reactant. Neither high temperature heating nor high level pressurization is needed for processing of the contaminated liquid.

  • Patent number: 5592317
Abstract: A chromium blank for forming a black matrix-screen to be used as a color filter for a liquid crystal display is formed by forming at least a first antireflection film, a second antireflection film and a screening film sequentially in that order on one major surface of a transparent substrate. Each of the first and the second antireflection film is a semitransparent film formed of a chromium compound or a chromium mixture, containing chromium as a principal component, and the screening film is formed of chromium, a chromium compound containing chromium as a principal component. The transparent substrate, the first antireflection film, the second antireflection film and the screening film meet an inequality: n.sub.s <n.sub.1 <n.sub.2 <n.sub.3, where n.sub.s is the refractive index of the transparent substrate, n.sub.1 is the real part of the complex index of refraction of the first antireflection film, n.sub.2 is the real part of the complex index of refraction of the second antireflection film, and n.

  • Patent number: 5088244
Abstract: A method of machining a member included a screw-shaped portion which is used when the member is ground at the screw-shaped portion by means of a machine tool, in particular, a grinder. A configuration of the tool that projects corresponding to the thread-groove configuration on a section normal to the axis of the screw-shaped portion to be machined is prepared. The axis of the tool is positioned in parallel with the axis of the screw-shaped portion to be machined, and the relevent surface of the screw-shaped portion is machined by moving the tool relative to the screw-shaped portion while their axes are being kept in parallel with each other. According to the present invention, the lead of a small-diameter, deep-grooved female screw-shaped portion may be able to be machined. In addition, an ordinary NC machine tool can be used to machine leads of screw-shaped portions simply by making changes in the NC program.

  • Patent number: 5056556
Abstract: A solenoid valve comprising a valve body, and a poppet vertically slidable within the valve body and moved to and from a valve seat so as to open and close an oil passage. The poppet is in the form of a cylindrical tube and is slidably fit around and supported by a guide rod in an oil-tight manner. The guide rod has a valve seat at its bottom and an oil passage for communication with the interior of the poppet. Features of the present invention are as follows. The guide rod has a surface on which the inner peripheral surface of the poppet is slidable. The outer diameter of such a surface of the guide rod is slightly smaller than that of the valve seat. In this way, the solenoid valve acts as an on-off valve and a relief valve. The valve of the type as thus far explained further includes a passage for reducing the flow velocity of an oil as pressurized between the poppet and the guide rod. A surface of the poppet is shaped to maintain an oil film between the poppet and the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 4871993
Abstract: To prevent the driver from being confused by the fact that a pseudo vehicle speed to diagnose a vehicle speed meter is indicated when a vehicle speed sensor is disconnected by an accident during vehicle travelling, a pseudo vehicle speed sensor signal is applied to the vehicle speed meter only when the vehicle speed sensor is disconnected from the vehicle speed meter and the disconnected sensor is reconnected to the meter a predetermined time period after the sensor has been disconnected from the meter. The self-diagnostic apparatus is composed of counters, flip-flops and logical gates, and is reset whenever an ignition switch is turned on.

  • Patent number: 4169605
Abstract: A shaft sealing means for use in a hydraulic pump/motor having a rotary shaft rotating within its body, an oil seal fitted in the gap between the rotary shaft and the body for sealing therebetween and between the high and low pressure sides, and a spacer fixed in the gap. The shaft sealing means comprises anti-protrusion means fitted relatively tightly in the gap with its high pressure side surface in close contact with the low pressure side surface of the oil seal for preventing protrusion of the oil seal toward the low pressure side, and anti-friction means inserted in the gap between the anti-protrusion means and the spacer for providing a sliding motion between the anti-protrusion means and the spacer thereby reducing the generation of frictional forces therebetween.
