  • Patent number: 9460372
Abstract: Provided is an image forming apparatus that performs printout processing smoothly, even if printout from apparatus having no spooler, such as a tablet or a smart phone. The image forming apparatus includes the port for printing and an application executing part. The port for printing acquires a print job transmitted from an external apparatus without using spooler function. The application executing part works on a specified platform. The application executing part receives the print job from the external apparatus via a network. Then, the application executing part confirms whether or not the print buffer has space to the port for printing. When the print buffer cannot be used, an application executing part notifies the external apparatus for stopping the transmission of the print job until it becomes available.

  • Patent number: 9374494
Abstract: The present invention relates to a recording apparatus and method, a reproducing apparatus and method, and a program that make it possible to photograph and record a still image and moving images before and after the still image as well. In step S1, when a still-image-with-moving-image photographing mode is set, moving image temporary storage is started. When a shutter is depressed in step S2, in step S3, a photographed still image is recorded and one moving image is generated from the moving image before the still image stored in step S1, a moving image obtained by converting the photographed still image, and a moving image photographed after the depression of the shutter and the one moving image generated is recorded. Therefore, the moving images before and after the still image are recorded together with a high-definition still image.

  • Patent number: 8982374
Abstract: A multifunction peripheral (MFP) transmits read data (user identification information) obtained by a reader to a user-manager server device via a network. The user-manager server device specifies a data format of the read data, converts the data format into another data format to specify a user ID corresponding to the read data, performs a user authentication using the user ID, and transmits authorization information corresponding to a logged-in user. Further, the MFP receives the identification information corresponding to the logged-in user by a user authentication method specified by authentication setting data, and transmits the identification information to the user-manager server device. The authentication setting data is updated by the master authentication data stored in the user-manager server device. The user-manager server device performs the user authentication using the identification information, and transmits the authorization information corresponding to the logged-in user.
