  • Patent number: 5940146
Abstract: A video apparatus with image memory function has a memory of three ports (one for write, two for read), memory read control units corresponding to two independent read ports and adapted to read a desired area (first area) from a first read port and an area (second area) which contains the first area and is wider than the first area from a second read port, and a memory write control unit. With this construction, an input video signal is written to the memory, starting with a write head address designated by the memory write control unit, the first and second fields to be read during the next field are determined during the period of vertical blanking, a next write head address is determined to be after the first area, and a signal of the first area is delivered as an output video signal.

  • Patent number: 5798792
Abstract: In an image pickup apparatus with a horizontal line interpolation function having a plurality of solid state image pickup elements, three chrominance signals obtained from the plurality of solid state image pickup elements are shifted in vertical phase from one another, whereby when a horizontal interpolation line is synthesized, in the case where the interpolated video signal is viewed as a whole of three chrominance signals (e.g. when a luminance signal synthesized from G, R, and B signals by matrix operation is considered), deterioration in vertical frequency response characteristic can be reduced, and besides deterioration in vertical sharpness of an image can be reduced. Further, by combining a frame signal in a pseudo fashion, a high-quality frame still image can be formed.

  • Patent number: 5646738
Abstract: A LED radiates light on a plate held on plate cylinder upon receiving a radiation start signal, so as to form an irradiated area on plate. A photo diode (PD) senses substantially only conventional catoptric light reflected from irradiated area and generates the sensed signal representing the conventional catoptric light intensity. A data processing unit computes the dampening volume based on the sensed signal which is stored in storage device 9, storage device 9 then generates dampening volume signal. The LED is held in such manner that an incident angle of the light in connection with the surface of the irradiated area is made at predetermined angle sufficient for changing the conventional catoptric light intensity sensed by PD in accordance with the dampening volume.

  • Patent number: 5452021
Abstract: When an image motion vector is to be detected, correlation calculations are performed by a correlation calculation circuit (12) and the motion vector is detected from the result. At this time, the video signal undergoing correlation calculations has a half-line deviation between the fields in the vertical direction caused by interlace. Then, the detected motion vector contains an error of half a line derived from the above deviation. Therefore, a motion vector correction circuit (14) corrects the error by adding to or subtracting from the motion vector derived by the motion vector detection circuit (13) a predetermined number corresponding to half a line. Further, a vertical-direction interpolation circuit (31) is provided to produce a vertical-direction interpolation signal for a video signal. One of video signals performed with correlation calculations in a correlation calculation circuit (33) is always the video signals interpolated in the vertical direction. Thereby the above described error is corrected.

  • Patent number: 5321515
Abstract: An image fluctuation correcting apparatus for correcting image fluctuations without using a field memory by providing an image fluctuation predicting circuit for predicting image fluctuation in a succeeding field from the image fluctuation determined in a preceding field and moving signal read addresses of a solid state image pickup device in accordance with the predicted value. In another image fluctuation correcting apparatus, movements of an image pickup apparatus are detected by using an acceleration detecting circuit to thereby predict image fluctuation in a succeeding field by a predicting apparatus on the basis of the detected movement of the image pickup apparatus for correcting the image fluctuation.
