  • Publication number: 20050225199
Abstract: A piezoelectric element of a tuning fork resonator comprises a base portion and a plurality of leg portions. Drive electrodes are formed on top and bottom major surfaces and both side surfaces of each leg portion. The drive electrodes have polarities different between on the top and bottom major surfaces and the both side surfaces. The drive electrodes on the side surfaces are connected to each other. Further, metal film for frequency adjustment is formed on a tip portion of each leg portion of the piezoelectric element. The frequency adjustment is performed by removing the metal film formed on at least one surface of side surfaces and a tip surface of the tip portion by beam irradiation.

  • Publication number: 20050005539
Abstract: A damping brace having an axial force member for providing bearing forces against tensile or compressive forces, a constraining member for constraining the axial force member, and a stiffening part for supplementing the stiffness of the axial force member. An adhesion preventive coating is provided for preventing adhesion between the constraining member and the stiffening part. A length of the stiffening part extending along the axial direction and the gap between the stiffening part and the constraining member are defined in such a way as to prevent an end of the axial force member from rotating in the axial direction beyond a specific angle when the compressive force is applied to the force member.

  • Publication number: 20040248423
Abstract: A tuning-fork crystal wafer 1A which has legs 11, 12 with grooves 11c, 12c is shaped by etching of a crystal substrate 2. To improve processing precision of the depth of the grooves 11c, 12c, the width of the grooves 11c, 12c, is set in advance, based on the etch stop technique in which the amount of etching depends on the pattern of an etch portion. Consequently, as far as the etch time satisfies a required minimum time, it is possible to obtain the depth as designed.

  • Patent number: 6278113
Abstract: A scanning probe microscope is provided with a probe tip directed to a sample surface, an XYZ fine movement mechanism for providing a relative positional change between the sample and the probe tip, and a displacement detecting section for detecting the displacement of the probe tip. The scanning probe microscope measures the surface characteristic of the sample by using a control signal. This control signal is generated on a signal outputted from the displacement detecting section and is used for keeping a state of a mutual action generated between the sample and the probe tip identical to a predetermined state, while the probe tip scans the surface of the sample based on the operation of the XYZ fine movement mechanism.

  • Patent number: 6184533
Abstract: A stage unit used for moving a sample comprises a vertical stage for moving a sample stand in a vertical direction, a horizontal stage for moving the vertical stage in a horizontal direction. In the stage unit, the horizontal stage is fixed on a horizontal slide surface of a surface table and the vertical stage is slidably arranged on the slide surface. The vertical stage is coupled with the horizontal stage by means of plate springs having strong rigidity in the horizontal direction and weak rigidity in the vertical direction. The whole rigidity of the stage unit is determined only by the vertical stage and is not subject to the effect of the rigidity of the sections included in the horizontal stage and the rigidity of a driving section as to each axis direction. The rigidity of the stage unit can be increased. The standstill rigidity of the stage unit is determined only by the rigidity of the vertical stage. All stages of the stage unit are not piled up.

  • Patent number: 5467281
Abstract: A controller for a power steering apparatus in which operation fluid for generating assist torque is pumped by a motor-driven pump. The controller controls the flow rate of the operation fluid by changing the voltage supplied to the motor. The controller is provided with a section for generating a target value representing a target voltage to be supplied to the motor, a section for detecting the voltage actuary supplied to the motor, and a section for generating a voltage compensation value based on the detected voltage. The voltage compensation value is obtained by integrating a voltage difference between the target voltage and the detected voltage. The voltage compensation value is added to the target value to obtain a compensated target value. The motor is driven by a voltage corresponding to the compensated target value.
