  • Patent number: 6292083
Abstract: A structure of a surface-mount coil is provided which prevents a decrease in the fixing strength between the core and the lead frame of the surface-mount coil when soldering of a surface-mount coil to a mount board. Specifically, the structure of the surface mount coil of the present invention suppresses movement and diffusion of molten solder to lower faces of the core placing portions when soldering the external connection terminals to electrode lands of the mount board. The molten solder is detained on the electrode lands to form sufficient solder fillet on the external connection terminals, resulting in suppression of generation of defects in soldering and prevention of decreases in the fixing strength between the core and the lead frame by preventing heat transfer to the upper surface of the core mount portion of the surface mount coil.

  • Patent number: 6229424
Abstract: A variable linearity coil has a coil which is wound around a magnetic core, a permanent magnet for charging a bias magnetic field to the magnetic core, and a magnetic field adjusting coil for adjusting the bias magnetic field. The coil and the magnetic field adjusting coil are respectively disposed horizontally such that an axial line of each of the coils lies perpendicular to lead terminals to which terminal ends of each of the coils are connected. The coil, the magnetic field adjusting coil, and the permanent magnet may be contained in a casing and the terminal ends of each of the coil and the magnetic field adjusting coil are connected to lead terminals which are embedded into the casing.

  • Patent number: 6114934
Abstract: A variable linearity coil has a coil which is wound around a first core, a permanent magnet for charging a bias magnetic field to the first core, a bias magnetic field adjusting coil which is wound around a second core, and an electrically insulating base for mounting thereon the coil, the permanent magnet, and the magnetic field adjusting coil. The first core and the second core are placed one on top of the other with a non-magnetic and shock-absorbing spacer in between. Alternatively, the first core and the second core may be placed one on top of the other with a non-magnetic spacer in between, and a combination of the first core, the second core and the non-magnetic spacer is mounted on the base with a shock-absorbing spacer between the combination and the base.

  • Patent number: 4674775
Abstract: An improved coupling for a corrugated conduit includes a main tubular body with a sleeve defining a conduit receiving bore terminating at its inner end in an annular shoulder projecting radially inwardly of the tubular body. A nipple clamps the end portion of the conduit and is inserted together therewith into the conduit receiving bore where it is pressed forwardly by rotating a nut threaded on the sleeve for forcing the end of the conduit into pressing contact with the shoulder. The nipple is externally shaped to have a polygonal configuration so as to be slidably but unrotatably inserted in the correspondingly shaped conduit receiving bore, preventing the conduit from being twisted during the securing operation of rotating the nut about the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4626121
Abstract: A ball and socket joint for automotive wheel suspensions or the like has a ball stud extending into a housing through its open end. The ball end of the ball stud rotatably bears against a load carrying bearing and a wear takeup bearing within the housing, in which is also mounted a spring urging the wear takeup bearing toward the load carrying bearing. The wear takeup bearing has a protuberance extending through an aperture in a cover closing the housing end opposite to its open end. Fitted over the protuberance, a wear indicator cap is normally engaged therewith in a position close to the housing cover and is sprung or otherwise preloaded in a direction away therefrom. When the protuberance recedes into the housing to such an extent that the wear of the joint exceeds an acceptable limit, the wear indicator cap travels from the housing under the preload and comes to a stop on the distal end of the protuberance, indicating the wear of the joint in a greatly amplified, visually recognizable manner.
