  • Publication number: 20050261590
Abstract: An ultrasonic probe includes ultrasonic piezoelectric elements that are arranged in a first direction at predetermined intervals and transmit and receive ultrasonic waves in a second direction substantially orthogonal to the first direction. The respective ultrasonic piezoelectric elements have plural grooves, which are parallel to the first direction and do not pierce through an end face, on at least one end face of two end faces substantially orthogonal to the second direction of the respective ultrasonic piezoelectric elements. The ultrasonic waves are weighted in a third direction orthogonal to the first direction and the second direction according to shapes and arrangement of the respective plural grooves and transmitted and received. In addition, a conductive member is joined to the end face having the grooves of the respective ultrasonic piezoelectric elements along the third direction.

  • Patent number: 6950524
Abstract: A sound reproduction system has pairs of sound emitters that subtend different angles ?, the span angle, at the listener position. The pairs of sound emitters are arranged to be excited by different frequency bands of the signal output from an inverse filter means (Hh, Hl). The operational span-frequency range of the pairs of sound emitters is determined by an equation (I) where the transducer span ? is the angle subtended at the listener by a pair of transducers, where O<n<2. c0: is the speed of sound, and ?r: is the equivalent distance between the ears. The sound emitters may be discrete speaker units, the different pairs of units being positioned at different span angles, or they be constituted by area portions of an extended transducer (FIG. 10). When discrete speaker units are employed a cross-over filter (FIG. 28) is used to provide drive signals in the different frequency bands to the different speaker pairs.

  • Publication number: 20050119162
Abstract: The object of this invention is to provide a novel pharmaceutical composition for getting rid of pains and anxiety in patients. This invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing lactoferrin as an active ingredient. The composition of this invention is useful for treatment of at least one disease or condition selected from the group consisting of pains, including the phase 1 pain and the phase 2 pain, anxiety and stress. The composition is particularly beneficial to alleviating or getting rid of the pain and anxiety which significantly lower quality of life of patients with end-stage cancer. The composition of this invention is also useful for treatment of pains, including the phase 1 pain and the phase 2 pain, and inflammation which accompany arthritis or diseases in the junctions of bones (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, frozen shoulder, sports injuries such as tennis elbow and baseball shoulder, and low back pain).

  • Publication number: 20050073072
Abstract: A cast web formed on a support in a casting process is peeled off the support by a first roller in a peeling and conveying process. As being peeled by the first roller, the cast web forms a film, and conveyed through a second roller to a tenter drying process. The peeling and conveying process has a length from a peeling position to a holding position of the film by clips. The length is set to be 10% to 80% of the width of the cast web. The first and second rollers are concave rollers. A couple of blowers are disposed at the end of the peeling and conveying process, to blow the lateral sides of the film in laterally outward directions of the film, to stretch curls in the lateral sides of the film.

  • Publication number: 20050036884
Abstract: A die pickup method and device including a collet 4 that vacuum-chucks dies 1A, 1B, IC . . . , which are on a wafer sheet 2, and a suction stage 6, which vacuum-sucks this wafer sheet 2. A protruding surface 21 is formed on the upper surface of the suction stage 6 so that it is located on the feeding (upstream) side in the direction in which dies are fed to the die pickup center 5 of the suction stage 6. The wafer sheet 2 being vacuum-sucked by the suction stage 6 is fed so that a die 1A that is to be picked up is moved toward the die pickup center 5, thus allowing the die 1A to be separated from the wafer sheet 2 as the die 1A passes the protruding surface 21, and then the die 1A is vacuum-chucked and picked up by the collet 4.

  • Publication number: 20050023720
Abstract: In a casting apparatus, a dope is cast on a cyclically moving belt to form a casting film, which is dried in a drying section. In the drying section, air shielding plates are provided to divide the casting film into a middle area and side edge areas in a widthwise direction. A hot air circulator has an air inlet and an air outlet, between which the hot air is cyclically fed. A cool air blower is provided so as to blow a cool air into side edge areas through an air outlet. Thus the increase of the temperature of the side edge portions of the casting film is prevented so as to make the temperature distribution of the casting film in a widthwise direction uniform, and therefore the generation of the bubbles is prevented.
