  • Patent number: 8594565
Abstract: The risk of a third party able to conduct pairing is reduced, and operation is also made simple. In S1 the radio wave strength of a pairing signal received first is measured and retained. In S2 the message “Come a little closer” is displayed. In S4 it is determined from the radio wave strength whether or not the current distance is within a given range with respect to an instructed distance. In S5 it is determined whether or not the number of determinations in which the current distance is determined to be within the given range has reached a set number of determinations. In a second determination the message “Now move away a little” is displayed. If the second determination becomes positive, S6 (pairing registration) is performed.

  • Patent number: 8577040
Abstract: A data communication system and method in which a need to store a frame count value in a non-volatile memory and update the frame count value is obviated, and in which the effect resulting when a frame with its frame count value altered to a value close to a full count value is transmitted is reduced. When a valid frame count value is not held, an inquiry is made for a frame count value. The frame count value is notified from the receiving end, and the frame count value is acquired. An encryption key is generated on the basis of the frame count value. Data is encrypted with the encryption key. Data in a frame structure is transmitted. When the frame transmission ends, the frame count value is incremented.

  • Publication number: 20130286169
Abstract: To preferably present a stereoscopic image to a viewer by controlling opening and closing timing of shutter lenses through intermittent communication between a display device and shutter glasses. A display device 11, when recognizing switchover timing of a display mode in advance, commands continuous reception using periodically transmitting synchronization packet. Since shutter glasses 13 starts the continuous reception in advance, even if the display device 11 transmits a packet commanding switchover of the display mode at any timing when display on a display panel 210 is switched over from 3D to 2D, the shutter glasses 13 can receive the packet for the switchover in appropriate shutter opening and closing control.

  • Publication number: 20130241714
Abstract: A remote control apparatus is disclosed, which radio transmits a control command from a remote controller to a reception apparatus connected to an electronic device which is an apparatus under control. The reception apparatus stores a first identification information which represents a destination remote controller. When the remote controller issues a pairing start command, the remote control apparatus transmits a pairing request containing second identification information of the remote controller itself. The reception apparatus extracts the second identification information from the received pairing request and decides that the remote controller is a pairing party if the first identification information matches the second identification information. The reception apparatus transmits a pairing response containing third identification information of the reception apparatus itself to the remote controller.

  • Patent number: 8418203
Abstract: By describing electrical program guide information in a language such as XML and then multiplexing the electrical program guide information to a broadcast signal for transmission, advertisements, images and sounds can be easily entered and various program guides can be realized. For manufacturers of receiving devices, it suffices to develop only the software for receiving, decoding and displaying received XML data. There is no need to develop the software for displaying the EPG for each type of receiving device. Thus, the number of development steps can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20120081528
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to notify an observer who is wearing shutter glasses of information related to the remaining battery capacity or the like of the shutter glasses, through display of a stereoscopic image. To that end, shutter glasses (20) transmit internal information such as the remaining capacity of a battery (22) to a display apparatus (10). On the display apparatus (10) side, notification or warning of the remaining capacity is displayed on the screen by a display section (11). Of course, this notification or warning can be also presented as a time-division stereoscopic image. In such a case, the observer can check a state such as exhaustion of the battery (22) while keeping wearing the shutter glasses (20), that is, while viewing a stereoscopic image.
