  • Patent number: 5553208
Abstract: An image synthesizing system is provided which can increase the speed of its hardware and reduce the scale of the same by using the subsampling/interpolation. A processor unit (80) determines coordinates of each dot and associated texture coordinates in polygons based on image data of vertices. A field buffer unit (40) stores the texture coordinates at its address specified by the coordinates of each dot. The texture coordinates are read out from the field buffer unit (40) and then used to read out rendering data from a texture data storage unit (42) to synthesize and output a pseudo 3-D image. In this case, the processor unit (30) includes a subsampling unit. Texture coordinates of the dots ignored by the subsampling unit are determined on the texture coordinates of dots adjacent to the ignored dots through interpolation circuits (180)-(186).

  • Patent number: 5311452
Abstract: A pressure gage detects a pressure in a vacuum-processing container as an electrical signal. A pressure detection signal from the pressure gage includes an error over time. An error detecting unit detects a signal representing the error which is output from the pressure gage while the vacuum-processing container is set at a predetermined calibration pressure. A correction value calculating unit calculates, in accordance with the signal representing the error which is detected by the error detecting unit, a signal representing a correction value used in order to cancel the signal representing the error. A correcting unit adds the pressure detection signal from the pressure gage to the signal representing the correction value which is calculated by the correction value calculating unit while an instruction for setting an interior of the vacuum-processing container at a desired pressure value is output, thereby eliminating the error over time which is included in the pressure detection signal.

  • Patent number: 5236556
Abstract: A plasma generating section generates a plasma in a process vessel. A plasma process section executes a plasma process to a substance to be processed by moving the plasma generated by the plasma generating section. A sensor section outputs an electrical signal corresponding to the intensity of plasma light having a predetermined wavelength in the plasma when the plasma process is executed by the plasma process section. A smoothing section smooths the electrical signal output from the sensor section. A end-point detecting section detects an end-point of the plasma process in accordance with the signal smoothed by the smoothing section.

  • Patent number: 5005935
Abstract: A wavelength-division multiplexing optical transmission system is disclosed which transmits light of wavelengths .lambda..sub.1, .lambda..sub.2 and .lambda..sub.3 (.lambda..sub.1 <.lambda..sub.2 <.lambda..sub.3) by way of a single optical fiber. An optical multiplexer/demultiplexer of the filter type is used which includes a parallelogram prism, a first filter formed on a side face of the parallelogram prism, and second and third filters formed on the opposite side face of the parallelogram. Bidirectional optical fiber communications between the central telephone exchange side and a subscriber side can be achieved using such optical multiplexer/demultiplexer of the filter type. With the arrangement of the invention, an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer of the filter type can be produced at a low cost without the necessity of using a filter having a wide stopping band as a filter to be formed on a parallelogram prism.

  • Patent number: 4798789
Abstract: Plasmid vectors are provided that carry complementary DNA (cDNA) clones cng for polypeptides exhibiting murine interleukin-2 activity. One of these polypeptides is 168 amino acids in length, including a potential leader sequence of about 19 amino acids. The cDNA is derived from messenger RNA isolated from a mouse T-cell line after activation with concanavalin A. The cDNA was cloned by incorporation into a plasmid vector, which is then transformed into E. coli. The plasmid vector also contained DNA segments from the SV40 virus, permitting expression of the cDNA after transfection into a mammalian host cell, such as monkey COS-7 cells.

  • Patent number: 4782371
Abstract: When images are repeatedly recorded on a recording medium such as a single sheet of paper, the length of the second image to be recorded is varied dependent on the shrinkage factor of the recording medium which is derived from the period of time in which the recording medium is left from the time when the recording of the first image is completed to the time when the second image starts to be recorded. Positional deviation or size difference between the images which would otherwise be caused by the shrinkage of the recording medium upon repetitive image recording can be eliminated.
