  • Patent number: 4499849
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning a recording medium is provided. The cleaning apparatus of the present invention is applicable to an electrophotographic or electrographic recording system. The present cleaning apparatus comprises a toner cleaner for removing residual toner particles from the surface of a recording medium, a counter member disposed on the opposite side of the recording medium with respect to the toner cleaner, and a mechanism for urging at least either one of the toner cleaner and the counter member against the other. Accordingly, the recording medium is kept in pressure contact with the toner cleaner so that cleaning of the recording medium may be carried out at upmost efficiency at all times. Besides, due to the provision of the urging mechanism, the alignment of parts is made less severe in assemblage of the apparatus, thus facilitating the manufacturing process.

  • Patent number: 4449151
Abstract: A solid-state scanning apparatus for scanning the surface of an original to convert light information into electrical signals suitable for application to a facsimile system is provided. The scanning apparatus comprises a stationary original holder, on which an original to be scanned is placed, a stationary optical system including a solid-state line sensor comprised of at least two CCD image sensing devices arranged in a line to carry out the split scanning with a predetermined overlapping scanning section between the two adjacent scanning sections, a pair of first and second storing devices provided for each of said CCD image sensing devices, a control circuit for controlling the operation of the CCD image sensing devices and the storing devices, and a reciprocatingly movable mirror system for leading the light information of the original to the solid-state line sensor.

  • Patent number: 4432632
Abstract: A developing unit is adapted to be inserted into or withdrawn from a recording system and carries on a recording unit including a recording member in the form of an endless belt. A pair of rollers which support and drive the recording member as well as a developing sleeve which is utilized for converting a latent image formed on the record into a visual image are substantially aligned with each other in a direction which is parallel to the direction in which the developing unit is inserted or withdrawn. A transmission member is disposed at a location offset substantially perpendicular to such direction and transmits power from the recording system to one of the drive rollers which support the record. The power transmission takes place from the transmission member to the drive roller and then to the developing sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4429985
Abstract: A recording system including a recording member of the endless belt form in which a series of information is recorded while the recording member is being moved, deviation sensing means operative to sense a deviation of the recording member, deviation correcting means operative to correct the deviation of the recording member, and a control circuit for actuating the deviation correcting means based on a signal generated by the deviation sensing means upon sensing the deviation.A deviation of the recording member of the endless belt form can be corrected without causing deformation of the recording member, and the recording system can be fabricated simply at low cost.

  • Patent number: 4205349
Abstract: An original document for facsmile transmission or the like is fed over a horizontal transparent platen by rollers for scanning. A light source illuminates the document and a mirror reflects a light image of a linear portion of the document perpendicular to the direction of movement horizontally to a converging lens. The light image from the lens is reflected upwardly by another mirror onto the light receiving surface of a linear photosensor array. The light receiving surface of the array faces downwardly, minimizing accumulation of dust thereon. A light baffle in the form of a box is provided between the first mirror and converging lens and is formed with apertures for the light image to pass therethrough. A scan drive and amplifier circuit for the array is mounted closely adjacent thereto while a signal processing circuit comprising a quantization means is mounted on the box and electrically connected to the drive unit. The various units of the apparatus are individually detachable for ease of servicing.
