  • Patent number: 7206273
Abstract: An optical pickup has a base having a screw hole, a holder attached to the base, a laser diode held by the holder, a leaf spring, and an adjusting screw. The holder is formed of a substantially rectangular metal plate having short and long sides and is formed with a laser hole for fitting the laser diode through a center thereof. An angular fulcrum is formed at the center of a back surface of the holder along a direction parallel to the short side. The fulcrum is brought into abutment with the base via the leaf spring and one end of the holder is urged toward the base by the leaf spring. The holder is temporarily secured to the base by screwing the adjusting screw through an insertion hole formed at the other end of the holder into the screw hole of the base.

  • Publication number: 20070044114
Abstract: A first groove, a second groove, and a prepared hole are formed in a traverse chassis. The first groove restricts the downward movement of a printed circuit board as a lower edge portion of the board is slidably pinched in the first groove. The second groove restricts the sliding movement in one direction of the board as an edge portion on one side of both lateral sides of the board whose lower edge portion is nipped in the first groove is fitted in the second groove. The prepared hole vertically penetrates a portion of the traverse chassis defining the first groove and is disposed adjacent to an edge portion on another side of the both lateral sides of the board whose edge portion on the one side is fitted in the second groove.

  • Publication number: 20060198255
Abstract: In an optical head according to the present invention, an act base on which an objective lens is arranged is formed in a rectangular shape with through holes formed in four corners thereof. A base on which a collimating lens is arranged has projections to engage with the through holes in correspondence with the through holes when the act base is arranged. With the through holes of the act base engaged with the projections of the base, an adhesive is injected to the through holes to thereby fix the act base to the base. This improves the accuracy in bonding between the base and the act base, and permits laser light of a more stable intensity accordingly to be irradiated to the optical disc, thus permitting suppressing failure involved in data recording or reading.

  • Publication number: 20060182066
Abstract: A reception apparatus and reception method for converting symbol data to a reception bit string efficiently with a small amount of calculation. A despreading section (110) despreads a received signal. A coherent detection section (120) carries out coherent detection of a despread signal obtained by despreading the received signal using a corrected channel estimate value output from an estimate value correction section (170). A RAKE combining section (130) RAKE-combines the signal subjected to coherent detection. A phase rotation section (140) adds phase rotation corresponding to a channelization code to the RAKE-combined signal. A QPSK demapping section (150) demodulates the signal output from the phase rotation section (140) and outputs a reception bit string. A channel estimation section (160) carries out channel estimation using the received signal. The estimate value correction section (170) adds (?/4) phase rotation to each channel estimate value output from the channel estimation section (160).

  • Publication number: 20050180279
Abstract: In a processing section 4, allowable gain-value range defining unit 41 measures a gain value k corresponding to a level ratio between an MPP signal and an SPP signal generated by a tracking error signal generating circuit 3 to define an allowable range of the gain value, and eccentricity measuring unit 42 measures an eccentricity of an optical disk. If the eccentricity is determined to be greater than or equal to a predetermined value by eccentricity determining unit 43, gain-value defining unit 44 selects a minimum value of the gain value k to define the minimum value as a gain value k of an amplifier 37. On the other hand, if the eccentricity is determined to be less than the predetermined value, the gain-value defining unit 44 selects a central value of the gain value k to define the central value as the gain value k of the amplifier 37.
