    Abstract: The present invention relates to a nut circumferentially split into two parts, a supporting device for supporting elongate objects, the supporting device including the nut and holders for receiving the elongate objects, the nut being fixable to a selected position longitudinally of a rod-like supporting member extending vertically, and a clamping device for elongate objects, the clamping device including engaging portions through which holders are connected to the nut.The nut according to the present invention includes a pivotal connection for interconnecting circumferential ends of the nut parts to be pivotable between an open position and a closed position, and a retainer for releasably holding the nut parts in the closed position.
