  • Patent number: 4481153
Abstract: A rotary throttle valve carburetor in which the rotary valve is assembled with an operating lever, a needle valve and a carburetor body cover in such a way that the lever may be operated from opposite sides of the carburetor by orienting the assembly in the carburetor body in one of two positions 180.degree. apart. A cam is interposed between the operating lever and the cover to shift the rotary valve and the needle valve axially with rotation of the valves to regulate the needle valve relative to a fuel nozzle port.

  • Patent number: 4471577
Abstract: A double spindle grinding machine has a pair of grinding spindles mounted on feed tables for performing two independent grinding operations. A pair of work spindles for holding workpieces to be ground are rotatably mounted on a supporting frame which undergoes angular displacement in forward and reverse directions through an arc of 180.degree. to alternately position the workpieces held by the two spindles opposite alternate ones of the two grinding spindles. A swing shaft is connected to the supporting frame and is alternately driven in forward and reverse directions to displace the supporting frame to extreme forward and reverse positions so as to alternately position the workpieces in opposed relation to alternate ones of the grinding spindles.

  • Patent number: 4443404
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for producing a sintered porous metal plate comprising metal particles directly and integrally bonded together due to sintering, the plate being of porous construction and having a density gradient in the direction of thickness, comprising charging metal particles into a refractory mold, pressing the particles, passing an electric current therethrough to heat the metal particles approximately up to their transformation point and then heating the metal particles to effect sintering.

  • Patent number: 4412562
Abstract: A selvage apparatus including a photo-cell type device for detecting abnormal conditions of selvage threads is disclosed. In the detecting device comprising a microprocessor, the number of light interruptions by the selvage threads is counted and compared with a reference number, whereby abnormal conditions are detected on the basis of whether or not the number of light interruptions is less than the reference number.

  • Patent number: 4303106
Abstract: Method and apparatus for carrying out the filling operation in a jet loom, wherein a main nozzle is provided for flying a weft through a guide passage formed on a sley at the time of each filling operation. When the supply of a compressed fluid into the main nozzle is stopped immediately after the completion of a filling operation, the compressed fluid present between a transfer valve connected to a fluid supply source and the main nozzle is positively discharged into the atmosphere simultaneously with the stopping of the supply of the compressed fluid, so as to promptly reduce the fluid pressure in the main nozzle, by utilizing the transfer valve designed for the present invention.

  • Patent number: 4271093
Abstract: A carburetor having a fuel pump connected to a fuel supply, a fuel inlet valve, a diaphragm-controlled fuel chamber, and a diaphragm to control said fuel inlet valve in response to sub-atmospheric engine pulses, with a manually operable resilient pressure dome to create a sub-atmospheric pressure in the fuel chamber to move said diaphragm to an inlet valve open position and pull fuel into said chamber from a fuel supply to prime said carburetor for cold starts or restarts after fuel depletion.

  • Patent number: 4259627
Abstract: A numerically controlled transfer machine comprises a rotary index table having thereon a plurality of jig tables for holding workpieces, and a plurality of working units are disposed in spaced relation around the index table so that rotary indexing of the index table successively positions the jig tables opposite different ones of the working units. Each working unit includes a positioning feed mechanism for controlling the feeding and return movements of the working unit to enable a working operation to be carried out on the workpieces. Each working unit has a position detector comprised of a microswitch mounted on a slide member slidably mounted on the working unit.

  • Patent number: 3944995
Abstract: A device for detecting short-circuit between electrodes in electrolytic cells constituting an electrolytic plant in which a plurality of switch elements turned on and off under control of an external magnetic field are disposed to be vertically movable toward and away from the current collecting end portions of the individual anodes or cathodes in the electrolytic cells. These switch elements are moved downward to detect occurrence of short-circuit between the electrodes in one of the electrolytic cells, and when no short-circuit is detected in this electrolytic cells, the switch elements are automatically conveyed to the detecting position on the next electrolytic cell.
