A device is provided for inputting a second reference code which is collated with a second ID code provided to a receiver unit of an ECU or a keyset. A device is provided which, when the inputted code and a pre-registered second reference code agree with each other, writes the registered second reference code into the receiver unit as the second ID code. The code which is inputted as the second reference code is inputted based on an opening/closing manipulation of a throttle provided to a vehicle and a plurality of times of standing/storing manipulation of a side stand with and one digit of the code being represented by the number of throttle manipulations during two side stand standing/storing manipulations.

    Abstract: The keyless engine starting system includes a turning shaft 93 connected to a handle lock for locking and unlocking. The keyless engine starting system also includes a knob 92 having a cylindrical support portion which is turnably fitted along an outer periphery of the shaft 93. The shaft 93 is in engagement with a pawl 33 when the knob 92 is in a predetermined lock position to limit the turning motion of the shaft 93. The engagement of pawl 33 with respect to the shaft 93 is released in response to a releasing signal from outside. The keyless engine starting system also includes a click ball 95, a spring 94 and a recess 922 which form a torque limiter mechanism for connecting the knob 92 with the shaft 93. If the shaft 93 is forcibly turned, the knob 92 turns free without engaging the shaft 93.

The first identification information is based on random numbers generated by the engine ECU.

    Abstract: A vehicle theft deterrent system includes a smart card key system. The theft deterrent system is adapted to output a warning sound from a buzzer upon detection of a vibration of a predetermined value or larger by a vibration sensor. The buzzer prevented from operating at a time of unlocking a seat or unlocking a fuel lid. When an on-board device detects that a seat unlocking switch, for example, has been operated and upon success of mutual authentication after communication with a portable electronic key, the on-board device switches the state of operation of a buzzer into a non-operable state. Therefore, when a user who carries a regular portable electronic key does not want operation of the buzzer, the buzzer can be positively switched to the non-operable state.

    Abstract: A handlebars locking apparatus for locking and unlocking of the handlebars on the basis of a code collation is provided. A collation ECU releases a restriction of a rotor latched by a latch by driving a solenoid if an ignition switch is turned OFF while a lock pin is retracted. After releasing the restriction, rotation of the rotor is restricted by the latch and a code collation with a code stored in a portable key is carried out if a lock pin is in a protrusion state after the release of the restriction and the protrusion state is detected by a lock side switch. If the code collation is correctly carried out, the protrusion of the lock pin is maintained to lock the handlebars. If the code collation is not correctly completed, the restriction of the rotor is released so as to be returned into an unlocked state.

    Abstract: A steering lock device has a steering catch mechanism including a handlebar attached to a steering stem, and a locking arm attached to this handlebar and being equipped with a lock pin for engagement on the tip end portion thereof. The steering catch mechanism also includes a locking claw as an engaging portion that is engagable with the lock pin. The locking claw is usually biased in the unlocking direction. In this catch mechanism, the locking claw is disposed on a rotation track of the lock pin. Accordingly, when an external force is applied to the lock pin such that the lock pin is in contact with the locking claw of the catch mechanism, the locking claw is moved in the locking direction so that the locking claw can be engaged with the lock pin. Therefore, a steering-lock stand-by state is accomplished.
