  • Publication number: 20070228829
Abstract: A theft prevention device makes an ECU operable by transmitting a second ID code to the ECU from a keyset when an input code agrees with a first ID code. A device is provided for inputting a second reference code which is collated with a second ID code provided to a receiver unit of an ECU or a keyset. A device is provided which, when the inputted code and a pre-registered second reference code agree with each other, writes the registered second reference code into the receiver unit as the second ID code. The code which is inputted as the second reference code is inputted based on an opening/closing manipulation of a throttle provided to a vehicle and a plurality of times of standing/storing manipulation of a side stand with and one digit of the code being represented by the number of throttle manipulations during two side stand standing/storing manipulations.

  • Patent number: 7256680
Abstract: A remote control apparatus for a saddle-type vehicle such as a two-wheeled vehicle includes a transmission antenna for transmitting a signal to a normal portable transmitter carried by a vehicle user. The transmitted signal urges the portable transmitter to transmit an ID signal to a receiver positioned on the vehicle and operably connected to a handlebar lock module. The transmission antenna is disposed within the vehicle body cover at a position spaced away from the handlebar lock module. Upon receipt of the ID signal, a handlebar lock module provides a handlebar lock cancellation operation allowing operation of the vehicle. The invention greatly increases the degree of freedom in arrangement of the transmission antenna.

  • Patent number: 7190255
Abstract: An anti-theft device for a motorcycle having an associated remote control, prevents accidental misplacement or accidental confinement of the remote control in a locked storage box on the motorcycle. The anti-theft device includes a main switch and a remote control holder integrated with a handlebar locking module. When an unlocking signal is transmitted from the remote control, the locking of a handlebar may be released by a handlebar locking actuator only when the remote control is inserted into the remote control holder, thereby actuating a main relay driving circuit so that power is supplied to electric equipment and the motorcycle's engine can be started.

  • Publication number: 20070018799
Abstract: A control unit having an immobilizer function includes a circuit for transmitting a request signal within a predetermined range. After receiving a reply signal from an electronic key in response to this request signal once and allowing a movable body to move, when a reply signal to the periodically sent request signal is not received, it is determined that the electronic key is out of the range, and it is assumed that the key has been dropped. A monitor section outputs a warning signal and transmits the warning signal to the navigation unit. A navigation unit, in response to the warning signal, stores the location at that time as the positional information on the electronic key. The navigation unit also displays a map showing the location of a key based on positional information on the electronic key. With this system, a lost electronic key may be readily located.

  • Publication number: 20060238295
Abstract: A vehicle theft deterrent system includes a smart card key system. The theft deterrent system is adapted to output a warning sound from a buzzer upon detection of a vibration of a predetermined value or larger by a vibration sensor. The buzzer prevented from operating at a time of unlocking a seat or unlocking a fuel lid. When an on-board device detects that a seat unlocking switch, for example, has been operated and upon success of mutual authentication after communication with a portable electronic key, the on-board device switches the state of operation of a buzzer into a non-operable state. Therefore, when a user who carries a regular portable electronic key does not want operation of the buzzer, the buzzer can be positively switched to the non-operable state.

  • Publication number: 20060238296
Abstract: To ensure a perform authentication based on a request signal Sr which is the authorized radio signal even under a bad radio environment in which radio noise comes continuously. A portable device receives a request signal Sr transmitted from a vehicle-mounted device and transmits an answer signal including a receiving-sensitivity changing switch for changing a receiving sensitivity of a receiving circuit which receives the request signal Sr. As a result, even if the authentication cannot be carried out with normal receiving sensitivity due to the influence of the continuous radio noise, by changing the receiving sensitivity to low sensitivity, and by bringing the portable device physically close to a transmission source of the request signal which is the authorized radio signal, it is possible to dramatically increase the probability that the authentication based on the authorized radio signal can be carried out.

  • Patent number: RE40367
Abstract: This invention relates to a remote lock operation apparatus for a light vehicle having a bar handle and a switch case and having no cabin. One objective of the invention is to make it possible for the infrared receiver of the remote lock operation apparatus to cover a range of directivity without being influenced by the seat or the vehicle body rear portion. Another objective is to protect the infrared receiver from the weather and mischief. These objectives are achieved by having an infrared receiver provided on a switch case, with a switch operation element provided on a steering bar handle of a vehicle, thereby protecting the infrared receiver from potential damage while at the same time positioning it so that it can be easily operable by a passenger.
