  • Patent number: 6240902
Abstract: A drive unit for driving a fuel pump for a small-sized vehicle, which is capable of reducing the current consumption of the fuel pump. A drive unit includes an ECU for controlling the fuel injection amount of a fuel injector. The ECU drives the fuel pump on the basis of control data for controlling the fuel injection amount of the fuel injector and of a power supply voltage of the fuel pump. For example, the fuel pump is driven under pulse-width modulation (PWM) in such a manner that a pulse-width of a PWM signal is made larger with an increase in the fuel injection amount of the fuel injector and is made smaller with a decrease in the fuel injection amount of the fuel injector.

  • Patent number: 6146206
Abstract: A slippage prevention piece integrally formed onto a main socket unit of a power supply connector socket blocks undesired removal of a fuse from the power supply connector. A locking mechanism is included in the connector socket and connector plug to more reliably hold the power supply connector intact. The locking mechanism further aids in preventing the removal of the fuse from the power supply connector. The fuse is prevented from accidental removal by vibrations or contact with external objects. The result is a power supply connector having a fuse which is securely held in place.

  • Patent number: 6071129
Abstract: A connector socket positions its contacts within contact holding chambers. In order to limit excessive outward movement of the contacts during withdrawal of a connector plug, a center stopper projects sideways from the contact, and engages an engagement surface molded into the interior of the contact holding chamber. An end projection is bent at an inner end of the contact. The end projection is positioned behind a projection molded into the interior surface of the contact holding chamber. Engagement of the end projection with the projection prevents the end of the contact from excessive outward movement during withdrawal of a mating plug. In this way, both the center and the end of the contact are retained in place.

  • Patent number: 6062875
Abstract: A connector socket has a plug insertion opening that is as small as possible to prevent insertion of fingers or other object. The mating plug travels on a hinged arcuate path into the plug insertion opening. The plug insertion opening is displaced from a centerline of its contacts to provide clearance permitting the mating plug to enter, while maintaining a minimum opening size. A front surface of the connector socket surrounding the plug insertion opening is a grounded conductive plate. Thus, even if one succeeds in forcing a finger or other charged object through the plug insertion opening, static charges are discharges to the conductive plate, and therefore do not pose a threat of electrical damage to components accessible within the plug insertion opening.

  • Patent number: 6059580
Abstract: A connector mold (4) of a connector socket (1) includes pairs of contact holding chambers (7U,7L) facing each other along a direction perpendicular to a length of the connector socket. Contact insertion openings in opposite sides of the pairs of contact holding chambers permit the insertion of contacts (8U,8L) from opposed sides into the contact holding chambers. The opposite-side installations of the contacts permits pre-installation final forming of the contacts, including an "L"-shaped external connection terminal (8b) for external connection of the connector to a circuit board before the contacts are inserted into the mold. Base attachment grooves (10U,10L) in the inner walls of the contact holding chambers guide the insertion of the contacts into their respective contact holding chambers, and fix the contacts in place after insertion. A shield plate (9) is used to prevent electrostatic fingertip charge from reaching the contacts.

  • Patent number: 5770853
Abstract: A pulse generator is provided with a photoconductor in which first to third transmission lines composed of conductive film are formed on a semi-insulating substrate and the transmission lines are separated by first and second narrow gaps, and provides short pulses from short electrical pulses generated on these transmission lines in accordance with short optical pulses irradiated upon each narrow gap. Semiconductor lasers effect the irradiation of short optical pulses upon the first and second narrow gaps. A delay is conferred upon short optical pulses irradiated upon one of the first and second narrow gaps such that pulse height of short electrical pulses generated on the first to third transmission lines is maximized.

  • Patent number: 5584710
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a plurality of flexible convoluted metal contact strips connectable to external circuits. Switch arms connected to external circuits in a portable unit have a conductive contact area for selectively engaging the contact strips, thereby connecting the base unit and portable unit. A cover on the connector body rotates under pressure from the switch arm to direct excess force from the switch arm around the connector. The range of rotation of the cover is limited under contact of a plurality of stoppers by contact between the cover and a fixed plate. In this manner, excess force from the switch arm is never applies directly to the connector body or underlying connections.
