  • Patent number: 6428930
Abstract: A lithium secondary battery according to the present invention comprises: a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material composed of a reversible lithium intercalation material; a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material composed of a reversible lithium intercalation material; and a separator interposed between said positive electrode and said negative electrode, and in the positive electrode active material, at least one material which shows a positive sign of a total sum of entropy heat from a discharged state to a charged state is mixed with at least one material which shows a negative sign of a total sum of an entropy heat from a discharged state to a charged state. In a battery having such a construction, the amount of entropy heat during charge is reduced compared with a battery employing only a material which shows a positive sign of the total sum of entropy heat.

  • Publication number: 20020097990
Abstract: Conventionally, as in the case of switching between a DVD-R and a DVD-RAM, when the method of record mark arrangement in a track is changed, the physical format of the disk is also changed. This makes it difficult to ensure compatibility between pieces of data recorded by a plurality of different methods of record mark arrangement. According to the present invention, sector address data and block address data are recorded in each sector by using wobbling or deformation of a recording groove. Then, depending on which address is used, sector data structure is modified, thereby making it possible to select an address data detection and a data structure on a disk in a single physical format depending on the purpose.

  • Patent number: 6418093
Abstract: An exposure system and method for an original disk for an information recording medium. A rotating device is provided for driving an original disk and an optical head irradiates a beam for exposure on the original disk. A scanner performs exposure to light in a shape of a track by scanning the beam in a radial direction of the original disk and a controller controls a width of the scanning by the scanner. The controller controls the scanner so that borders on both sides of the track are shifted in phase from each other with a phase difference.

  • Publication number: 20020078415
Abstract: A data allocator allocates (N×kV×kH)-byte source data distributively in N (kV bytes×kH bytes) tow-dimensional arrays and sends the data to a V coder and an H coder. The V coder codes each column of the tow-dimensional arrays according to an (nV, kV) code V, and the H coder codes each row of the two-dimensional arrays according to an (nH, kH) code H. The V and H coders send redundant data to a data allocator.

  • Publication number: 20020066433
Abstract: An engine head cover structure has a head cover joined to the upper end of a cylinder head so as to define a valve operation chamber therebetween. The head cover includes therein an oil recovery chamber to which oil resided in the valve operation chamber is recovered by suction and a breather chamber that removes blowby gas from the valve operation chamber being provided in the head cover. The breather chamber is defined between a partition plate mounted on an inner wall of the head cover via clips and a surface of the roof of the head cover, and the oil recovery chamber is defined between the partition plate and a partition body welded thereto. It is thus possible to form the oil recovery chamber and the breather chamber without splitting the roof of the head cover, thereby making inspection of the joint for oil tightness unnecessary.

  • Publication number: 20020027542
Abstract: There is provided a liquid crystal display control device which can display pictures in a magnification mode by using only a memory having low-speed access and a low storage capacity. When a video signal has intermediate resolution or less, the enlargement processing is performed by a frame memory, a line memory and an enlargement processing control circuit. If the input operation and the output operation to and from the frame memory are synchronized with each other, it is sufficient for the frame memory to have a storage capacity of two lines. When the video signal has the same high resolution as a liquid crystal display panel, the video signal is output through a gate circuit to a display timing generating circuit, and it is displayed in a through mode. In this case, no processing is performed by the frame memory or the like.
