  • Patent number: 6487878
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a discharge tube, including heating a quartz tube by irradiation and closing it shut, is presented, in which variation of the heating temperature of the quartz tube can be reduced. Laser light is irradiated on a portion of the quartz tube, and in the step of sealing the portion of the quartz tube onto which laser light has been irradiated, the laser light is scanned while oscillating back and forth. The intensity of the laser light is controlled such that the intensity of the laser light when the size of a displacement of the laser light is maximal is smaller than the intensity of the laser light when the size of the displacement of the laser light is minimal.

  • Publication number: 20020098767
Abstract: In a method for manufacturing a discharge tube including a discharge part, a sealing part formed at an end of the discharge part, and an electrode provided in the discharge part, the method includes inserting an electrode body having the electrode into a portion to be the sealing part that is adjacent to a portion to be the discharge part of a transparent insulating tube serving as a material for the discharge tube, and then sealing the portion to be the sealing part by heating and softening with a combination of a laser beam and a gas burner, thus forming the sealing part. Heat sources are selected suitably according to each region in the portion to be the sealing part, whereby a high-quality discharge tube that is highly resistant to pressure can be manufactured at high production efficiency and low cost.

  • Patent number: 5690890
Abstract: A tin-lead alloy solder is provided which exhibits high joint strength under conditions which are likely to induce fatigue fracture. The tin-lead alloy solder comprises 15-80 wt. % lead, 0.1-5 wt. % silver, 0.1-10 wt. % antimony, and 0.0005-0.3 phosphorus, the balance being tin.

  • Patent number: 4450421
Abstract: A comb-line type dielectric filter in which a plurality of resonator holes are made in a dielectric block at predetermined intervals and coupling adjustment holes are made between the resonator holes, the interior surfaces of the resonator holes and the surface of the dielectric block being entirely or partly covered with a conductor film. The coupling adjustment holes are disposed apart from the line joining the centers of the resonator holes, and a coupling adjusting member made of metal or dielectric material is inserted into each coupling adjustment hole.

  • Patent number: 4425555
Abstract: A dielectric filter module having an open housing which supports screws for adjusting the characteristics of the dielectric filter. The dielectric filter, which includes an elongated dielectric block having internal cavities and a conductive film extending from the exterior surface of the block into the internal cavities, is mounted in an openended metal housing which surrounds three sides of the dielectric filter. Suitable housings can be inexpensively fabricated to the necessary length from segments cut from commercially available channel members having C-shaped or I-shaped cross-sections. Wires extend through the open ends of the housing to connector elements on the surface of the block adjacent its ends. The connector elements can be adhesively secured metal members or locally deposited regions of metallic film. Either threaded holes on the housing or nut members mounted on the housing can be used for supporting the adjustment screws.

  • Patent number: 4410868
Abstract: A dielectric filter in which a plurality of holes are made at predetermined intervals in a dielectric block of small dielectric loss, and a conductor film is formed on the surface of the dielectric block including the interior surfaces of the holes to constitute resonators using the conductor film on the interior surface of each hole as an inner conductor of the resonator and the conductive film on the outer peripheral surface of the dielectric block as an outer conductor, the resonance frequency of the resonators being based on the depth of each hole.
