  • Patent number: 7276887
Abstract: A power supply circuit includes first and second power supply circuits. The first power supply circuit has a first voltage generation circuit and the second power supply circuit has a second voltage generation circuit and an operational amplifier. When a load is in a low power consumption mode, only the first power supply circuit operates to output a first voltage to the load. When the load is in a normal operation mode, the second power supply circuit also operates to output a desired power supply voltage based on a reference voltage generated by the second voltage generation circuit. In this case, the operational amplifier controls not only the second power supply circuit but also the first power supply circuit. Thus, a desired power supply voltage is output to the load regardless of whether the first voltage is greater than the desired power supply voltage.

  • Publication number: 20070018194
Abstract: When a PWM command signal reaches a low level, an input transistor turns on, an on-driving transistor turns off, Darlington-connected off-driving transistors connected in series with the on-driving transistor turn on, and an output MOSFET changes from an on-state to an off-state. At this time, a base current of the on-driving transistor is limited by its input resistor, and charge stored in a base region decreases. When the command signal reaches a high level again while the base current flows through the on-driving transistor, the charges stored in bases of the Darlington-connected transistors are quickly lost because of the existence of the resistor, a diode, and a second resistor, which reduces turn-off time.

  • Publication number: 20070008832
Abstract: A laser beam from an LD 11 is irradiated onto a magnetooptic disk 33 by a predetermined power for a heat treatment. After the heat treatment, the laser beam of a power smaller than the power upon heat treatment is irradiated to the heat-treated area. Reflection light of the laser beam of the small power enters photodetectors 24 and 26 and reflection light amounts of a P wave and an S wave are detected, respectively. A differential detecting circuit 27 detects a level of a magnetooptic signal corresponding to the heat-treated area on the basis of the reflection light amounts of the P wave and the S wave. A controller 28 determines whether or not the magnetooptic signal level detected by the differential detecting circuit 28 lies within a permissible range. If it is out of the range, the power of the laser beam to execute the heat treatment is adjusted and the process of a magnetooptic disk is stopped or a message showing such a fact is displayed, or the like.

  • Patent number: 7060373
Abstract: A magneto-optical recording medium includes a first magnetic layer (reproduction layer), a second magnetic layer (control layer), a third magnetic layer (blocking layer), and a fourth magnetic layer (recording layer) having respective Curie temperatures TC1, TC2, TC3 and TC4. The Curie temperatures of the layers satisfy the relationships TC1>TC3>TC2 and TC4>TC3. In addition, the magnetic anisotropy of the third magnetic layer Ku3 is greater than that of the second magnetic layer Ku2. A magnetic domain wall in the first magnetic layer in front of the spot irradiated by the reproduction light in the direction of travel is displaced toward the peak temperature portion so that a recorded domain is expanded. Displacement in the spot direction of a domain wall in the first magnetic layer behind the reproduction light spot in the direction of travel is suppressed. The second and third magnetic layers control the magnetic exchange coupling between the first and fourth magnetic layers.

  • Publication number: 20050231458
Abstract: Conventionally, it is difficult to adjust the luminance of an LCD panel suitable for viewing a movie image. According to this invention, when a black belt detection circuit detects a black belt added above and below an image to be viewed, such as a letter box type video signal, a microcomputer generates a pulse signal P with a predetermined duty ratio, as a control signal to cause an inverter to lower the luminance of a backlight. Said inverter in turn change the duty ratio of a drive pulse output from a switching circuit based on said pulse signal, and the backlight decreases its luminance, making the luminance of the LCD panel suitable for viewing a movie image. Moreover, it is possible to display an image as it is based on an input image signal, thus allowing the original gray scale of the input video signal to be reproduce faithfully on the screen.
