  • Publication number: 20030043090
Abstract: In an apparatus for driving a luminescent display panel, in a state in which scanning lines are sequentially scanned to drive and illuminate light-emitting elements, a voltage peak value arising in a scanning line in a non-scanning state is held by a capacitor through parasitic capacitance of the light-emitting element in a non-scanning state. On the basis of the voltage value held by the capacitor, a reverse bias voltage to be output from a reverse bias voltage generation circuit is controlled, and the voltage is supplied to the scanning lines.

  • Patent number: 6345999
Abstract: A connector and an electronic component not damaged by connections to the connector are provided. The connector includes a pair of contacts attached to a base of the case, and an actuator. The actuator includes two slat members laid on one top of the other. Free ends of the pair of contacts are positioned in contact holes of the slat members. The contacts initially stand upright before an operation of the actuator. When the slat members are slid in opposite directions, the free ends of the contacts move further apart. After inserting the substrate terminal of the electronic component in between the free ends and releasing the actuator, the contacts try to resume their initial position because of their flexibility, and, as a result, securely hold the terminal.

  • Patent number: 6305949
Abstract: A press-fit pin for use with a printed circuit board assembly consisting of two opposed printed circuit boards, the press-fit pin having an upper first press-fit section and a lower second press-fit section. The first press-fit section and the second press-fit section are disposed so that the first press-fit section enters the first through-hole in the first printed circuit board before the second press-fit section enters the second through-hole in the second printed circuit board. As a result, the peaks of the forces required to press the first press-fit section and second press-fit section into place are staggered and do not coincide, resulting in a reduction in peak total force required and thus reducing the danger of bending the press-fit pin during insertion in the printed circuit boards.

  • Patent number: 6241555
Abstract: An internal shelled connector, mounted on electric equipment having a grounded chassis panel, for mating with an external cable connector. The connector is encapsulated by a conducting shell for electrostatic shield, except at an opening for receiving the external connector through a corresponding window of the panel. A contact, formed on the shell maintains pressure on a back surface of the panel to ground the shell. The contact may be a flange formed at a tip of a blade spring formed integrally continuous with the conducting shell. The flange maintains a persistent electric contact with the panel, even if the panel and the mounted shelled connector are partially separated due to mechanical stress, when plugging in or pulling out the external cable connector.

  • Patent number: 6241544
Abstract: The present invention provides a connector that can adjust the strength of the connection between the pins of a plug and the contacts of a jack by converting the horizontal motion of a member integrated into the jack or the plug into the vertical motion of an actuator disposed so as to adjust the strength of the contact between the pins and the contacts, thereby eliminating the need for a connector tool to accomplish the adjustment and thus both reducing the load surface area of the connector and eliminating the need for space in which to insert and remove plugs.

  • Patent number: 6059606
Abstract: An shelled connector secured to a circuit board of an electric equipment for receiving a counter connector is capable of shielding an array of connector contacts from an external electromagnetic noise by encapsulating an insulating connector body with a metal shell which is directly connected to a ground terminal pad on the circuit board. For one embodiment according to the resent invention, the metal shell has an extended portion connecting the metal shell directly to a ground terminal pad on the front surface of the circuit board by soldering.

  • Patent number: 5738550
Abstract: A press-fit pin has a press-fitting portion having a plurality of bending portions which are to be elastically bent so that a bending stress generated in the press-fitting portion is dispersed to the bending portions. The press-fitting portion is to be press fit into a through hole. The press-fitting portion has a plurality of beams extending along a longitudinal axis of the press-fitting portion. The beams are elastically bent along a line parallel to the longitudinal axis when the press-fitting portion is press fit into the through hole. The press-fitting portion has a cross portion extending along the longitudinal axis of the press-fitting portion so as to connect the beams. The cross portion is elastically bent along a line parallel to the longitudinal axis when the press-fitting portion is press fit into the thorough hole.
