  • Patent number: 5567137
Abstract: A scroll compressor for compressing a gaseous refrigerant including a lubricant in a mist state, having a stationary scroll member and a movable scroll member, which define pump chambers at an outer wall side of the movable scroll member and an inner wall side of the movable scroll member, which chambers are initially opened to an inlet port via a main intake passageway for introducing a gaseous refrigerant into the chambers when they are radially outwardly located. A sub-intake passageway, in which a shaft seal unit is provided, is diverted from the main intake passageway and is opened to the outer wall sided chamber before the chamber is sealingly closed so that a flow of gas, from the inlet port, is introduced into the chamber, the gas is positively fed to the shaft seal unit, and the shaft seal unit is lubricated.

  • Patent number: 5478212
Abstract: A swash plate type variable capacity compressor having rotary valves that rotate together on a rotating shaft. The rotary valves are arranged on the shaft in such a manner that, upon one complete rotation, the rotary valves are connected, in sequential manner, for respective rotating angles, with circumferentially spaced piston chambers via respective intake passageways on the rotary valves. The arrangement between the intake passageways and the piston chamber changes in accordance with the axial position of the rotary valves on the shaft. Control of the rotating angle varies the effective volume of the piston chambers, thereby continuously varying the compressor capacity.

  • Patent number: 5368120
Abstract: A drive apparatus for driving front and rear wheels of a motor vehicle, either the front and rear wheels being mechanically driven, through a power transmission mechanism, by a motive power generated by an engine of the motor vehicle and the other wheels being driven by hydraulic motors rotationally driven by a hydraulic pump. The drive apparatus limits driving forces of the other wheels, rotationally driven by the hydraulic motor, to be below a predetermined driving force and further detects occurrences of acceleration slips of the one wheels, rotationally driven through the power transmission mechanism, on the basis of speeds of the other wheels in which the driving force is limited to be below the predetermined driving force. The driving forces of the one wheels are adjusted in accordance with the acceleration slip detection result so as to suppress the occurrences of the acceleration slips.

  • Patent number: 5362208
Abstract: A swash plate type variable capacity compressor having rotary valves 16 and 17 that rotate together on a rotating shaft 1. The rotary valves 16 and 17 are arranged on the shaft 1 in such a manner that, upon one complete rotation, the rotary valves 16 and 17 are connected, in sequential manner, for respective rotating angles, with circumferentially spaced piston chambers Sp and Sp' via respective intake passageways on the rotary valves 16 and 17. The arrangement of the intake passageway Pr and Pr' is such that the value of the rotating angle in a communication between the intake passageways Pr and Pr' and the piston chamber changes in accordance with the axial position of the rotary valves 16 and 17 on the shaft 1. Control of the rotating angle can vary the effective volume of the piston chambers Sp and Sp', thereby continuously varying the compressor capacity.

  • Patent number: 5290343
Abstract: A first recess for detachably mounting an ionizer therethrough is formed to oppose a dust-collecting air suction side of a precipitator machine body. The ionizer includes an ionizing wire unit having an ionizing wire, and a counterelectrode plate, which can be detachably assembled. A second recess for detachably mounting a dust collector therethrough is formed to oppose a dust-collecting air discharge side of the precipitator body. The dust collector captures and collects dust particles, charged by the ionizer, with a Coulomb force. The ionizer and dust collector are simultaneously electrically connected to the body when they are mounted on the corresponding recesses.

  • Patent number: 5282429
Abstract: In a coal-fired boiler, a heat recovery unit is located upstream of a dry electrostatic precipitator so as to reduce the temperature of exhaust gas flowing to the dry electrostatic precipitator and thus prevent reverse ionization in the electrostatic precipitator. The heat recovery unit located upstream of the dry electrostatic precipitator will in no way be corroded even if the concentration of dust is reduced in the dry electrostatic precipitator. A desulfurization unit does not require a cooling/dust removing section and eliminates the need for a wet electrostatic precipitator. The dry electrostatic precipitator includes a gas passage divided into a plurality of parallel passages and dampers operable to close the passages. This arrangement prevents dust from being dispersed as a result of hammering without charge.
