Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include a user equipment (UE) transmitting, to a base station, signaling indicating a capability of the UE to utilize a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) for channel state information (CSI) reporting. Upon receiving the signaling, the base station may transmit the DMRS and the UE may update a parameter of a CSI report in response to the received DMRS. The UE may then transmit the CSI report to the base station and the base station may utilize the CSI report for subsequent communications with the UE.

  • Publication number: 20240298327
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for early termination of decoding attempts, including decoding attempts associated with physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates that are encoded using a rateless code. In some aspects, a transmitting device may encode a message using a rateless code associated with a cumulative encoding of various portions of the message, and using a device identifier or group identifier as an input to the encoding. Similarly, a receiving device may receive an encoded signal over candidate resources and may attempt to decode the signal in accordance with the rateless code and using a device identifier or a group identifier as an input to the decoding. As such, intended or non-intended receiving device may be able to evaluate whether to proceed with a decoding attempt or to terminate a decoding attempt at a relatively early stage.

  • Patent number: 12052126
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a wireless communications system, a user equipment (UE) and a base station implement reference signal modulation for conveying feedback information. In some examples, the UE may receive, from the base station, control signaling indicating to the UE to convey feedback information by modulating an uplink reference signal. The UE may receive, from the base station, a set of downlink messages. In some cases, the UE may transmit, to the base station, a set of uplink reference signals in response to receiving the downlink messages, where the set of uplink reference signals may be modulated by the UE to convey the feedback information. In some cases, the uplink reference signal may be a sounding reference signal (SRS) with embedded feedback information.

  • Publication number: 20240195463
Abstract: The described techniques may support multi-rank sidelink communications that may be reduced to single rank communications if failure to decode the multi-rank sidelink communications occurs. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a first message including first data using a first precoding vector applied for a first layer and a second precoding vector applied for a second layer. If the first message is not decoded successfully, the UE may transmit a second message including second data using a third precoding vector applied for the first layer and a fourth precoding vector applied for the second layer, where the second data is derived from the first data, the third precoding vector is derived from the second precoding vector, and the fourth precoding vector is derived from the first precoding vector. The second message may effectively reduce a rank of the first message when the channel is rank deficient.

  • Publication number: 20240196329
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a network entity, a capability message that indicates a set of one or more wake-up signal parameters associated with one or more wake-up signal waveform types supported by the UE. The network entity may transmit an indication of a set of wake-up signals to be monitored by the UE based on the capability message. The UE may monitor for the wake-up signals accordingly. In some examples, the network entity may determine a group of UEs based on wake-up signal parameters being common to the UEs in the group. Each of the UEs may monitor, using a first transceiver associated with a first mode of operation, for a group wake-up signal including a request for each UE of the group of UEs to activate a second transceiver associated with a second mode of operation and higher power consumption than the first transceiver.

  • Patent number: 11997034
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may select a scrambling sequence to use per symbol to reduce variance in a non-linearity parameter for a power amplifier (PA) output between a data symbol and a pilot symbol based on a PA model for at least one pilot symbol or one or more parameters of the model. The receiving device may indicate a capability to blindly estimate the scrambling sequence the transmitting device selected to the transmitting device. If the transmitting device does not receive the capability message from the receiving device or if the capability message indicates the receiving device is not capable of blind estimation, the transmitting device may indicate the selected scrambling sequence to the receiving device. Otherwise, the transmitting device may not indicate the selected scrambling sequence to the receiving device, and the receiving device may blindly estimate the scrambling sequence.

  • Patent number: 11990997
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for mapping coding indices associated with a rateless coding scheme to respective sets of communication resources over which a transmitting device may perform transmissions of portions of a message corresponding to each of the coding indices. In some aspects, for example, different coding indices may correspond to different cumulative portions of the message and the transmitting device may transmit a first cumulative portion of the message corresponding to a first coding index over a first set of communication resources to which the first coding index is mapped. The transmitting device may signal an indication of such a resource mapping scheme to a receiving device and the receiving device may attempt to decode transmissions of one or more cumulative portions of the message using the indicated resource mapping scheme.

  • Publication number: 20240163144
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a network entity may map on-off keying (OOK) symbols of an OOK sequence to an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform including at least one OFDM symbol with a cyclic prefix. Each OOK symbol of the OOK sequence may be mapped to at least one segment of an integer quantity of segments of the OFDM waveform based on an OOK data rate. A duration of each segment of the integer quantity of segments of the OFDM waveform may be based on the OOK data rate and a ratio between a duration of the cyclic prefix and a duration of a remainder of the OFDM symbol. The network entity may transmit the OFDM waveform via a set of frequency resources. A user equipment (UE) may receive and decode the OFDM waveform to obtain the OOK sequence.
