    Abstract: The described techniques may support multi-rank sidelink communications that may be reduced to single rank communications if failure to decode the multi-rank sidelink communications occurs. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a first message including first data using a first precoding vector applied for a first layer and a second precoding vector applied for a second layer. If the first message is not decoded successfully, the UE may transmit a second message including second data using a third precoding vector applied for the first layer and a fourth precoding vector applied for the second layer, where the second data is derived from the first data, the third precoding vector is derived from the second precoding vector, and the fourth precoding vector is derived from the first precoding vector. The second message may effectively reduce a rank of the first message when the channel is rank deficient.

The network entity may transmit an indication of a set of wake-up signals to be monitored by the UE based on the capability message. The UE may monitor for the wake-up signals accordingly. In some examples, the network entity may determine a group of UEs based on wake-up signal parameters being common to the UEs in the group. Each of the UEs may monitor, using a first transceiver associated with a first mode of operation, for a group wake-up signal including a request for each UE of the group of UEs to activate a second transceiver associated with a second mode of operation and higher power consumption than the first transceiver.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may select a scrambling sequence to use per symbol to reduce variance in a non-linearity parameter for a power amplifier (PA) output between a data symbol and a pilot symbol based on a PA model for at least one pilot symbol or one or more parameters of the model. The receiving device may indicate a capability to blindly estimate the scrambling sequence the transmitting device selected to the transmitting device. If the transmitting device does not receive the capability message from the receiving device or if the capability message indicates the receiving device is not capable of blind estimation, the transmitting device may indicate the selected scrambling sequence to the receiving device. Otherwise, the transmitting device may not indicate the selected scrambling sequence to the receiving device, and the receiving device may blindly estimate the scrambling sequence.

Each OOK symbol of the OOK sequence may be mapped to at least one segment of an integer quantity of segments of the OFDM waveform based on an OOK data rate. A duration of each segment of the integer quantity of segments of the OFDM waveform may be based on the OOK data rate and a ratio between a duration of the cyclic prefix and a duration of a remainder of the OFDM symbol. The network entity may transmit the OFDM waveform via a set of frequency resources. A user equipment (UE) may receive and decode the OFDM waveform to obtain the OOK sequence.

Similarly, a receiving device may receive an encoded signal over candidate resources and may attempt to decode the signal in accordance with the rateless code and using a device identifier or a group identifier as an input to the decoding. As such, intended or non-intended receiving device may be able to evaluate whether to proceed with a decoding attempt or to terminate a decoding attempt at a relatively early stage.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a technique for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE). The UE implements the technique to detect that a decoding failure of a first multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transmission, sent by a network entity on a first number of layers, is caused by a rank mismatch. The UE then sends a rank correction request to a network entity. The UE then combines samples from the first MIMO transmission and a second MIMO transmission, sent by the network entity using a space-time code (STC) with a second number of layers in response to the rank correction request, to recover data lost due to the decoding failure.
