  • Patent number: 5125134
Abstract: A magnetic fastener has a female member comprised of a permanent magnet having an axial hole therethrough and a ferromagnetic plate on one pole surface thereof, and a male member comprising a ferromagnetic plate-shaped member removably engageable against the other pole face of the permanent magnet and having a projection extending therefrom insertable into the hole of the permanent magnet, the hole in the permanent magnet having an oblong or elongated shape having a longer diameter and a shorter diameter, the shorter diameter providing little or no clearance between the hole in the area of the shorter diameter and the projecting portion on the removable member, and the longer diameter being substantially greater than the diameter of the projection so that when the parts are separated for unfastening and attempt is made to incline or tilt the projection with respect to the central axis of the hole in the direction of the shorter diameter, the outer surface of the projecting portion will engage against the side

  • Patent number: 5010622
Abstract: The present invention relates to improvements in door stoppers for keeping doors open. More particularly, the invention offers door stoppers which facilitate opening/closing of the door by the attraction of a permanent magnet, prevent damage to the attracting member by causing the attracting member and the attracted member comprising such a door stopper to gradually attract each other by a buffer action, and make either one of the attracting member or the attracted member swingable so as to enable secure and stable attraction.

  • Patent number: 4700436
Abstract: A magnetic fastener comprising a permanent magnet member having first and second sides of opposite polarity, a first magnetic pole plate attached at the first side of the magnet member, a second magnetic pole plate removably attachable on the second side of the magnet member, the pole plates being magnetically attracted to the magnet member and to each other through the magnet member, the permanent magnet member being a dispersion of hard magnetic powder in a matrix of synthetic resin, and the first magnetic pole plate being integrally attached to the permanent magnet member by the permanent magnet member itself. The permanent magnet member may be comprised of a molded member made by casting wherein the first magnetic pole plate is at least partly incorporated in the molded magnetic member or may be embedded therein.

  • Patent number: 4480361
Abstract: A magnetic clasp which protects magnetic records from being adversely affected by the magnetic induction lines of a magnet characterized in that the lines of magnetic induction inherent to the magnet are conveyed by the ferromagnetic end surface rather than diverged to outside in order to maximize the attracting power of the magnet. The paths of the magnetic induction lines are formed at a center hole bored in the magnet. The invention may be used as a clasp or lock for bags, boxes, bands or chains and has wide application for suitcases, handbags and purses.
