  • Patent number: 6018952
Abstract: The present invention provides A method for charging a refrigerant blend, when using as a refrigerant a non-azeotropic blend whose permissible range falls within 22 to 24% of difluoromethane, 23 to 27% of pentafluoroethane and 50 to 54% of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane, comprising adjusting a composition of non-azeotropic blend in a feeding container to the level of 23.5 to 24.0% of difluoromethane, 25.5 to 26.0% of pentafluoroethane and 50.0 to 51.0% of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane, discharging and transferring the non-azeotropic blend from the feeding container in liquid phase into another container in which a refrigerant is used so as to allow the composition change associated with the transfer to fall within the permissible range; and a method for producing a vapor compression refrigerating equipment.

  • Patent number: 5959165
Abstract: (1) At least one nitro compound and (2) at least one member selected from the group consisting of an aromatic hydrocarbon and an alicyclic unsaturated hydrocarbon are added to 1,1,1,2,3,3-hexafluoropropane (HFC236ea) or 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane (HFC245fa). Optionally, (3) at least one member selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic unsaturated hydrocarbon, an epoxy compound, an ether compound, a phenol compound, an ester compound and a cyclic compound is further added. As a result, HFC236ea and HFC245fa have remarkably improved stability at any stages and in any states during storage and use of HFC236ea or HFC245fa and during use of the foamed product.

  • Patent number: 5754370
Abstract: The present invention provides a new tab structure for a head suspension assembly in a magnetic storage system. In the prior art method of assembly, a harness temporarily holds a wire assembly. The present invention eliminates the need for the harness, thereby reducing the number of parts and steps as well as improving productivity and quality. A flexure of a suspension assembly must be manufactured very precisely. The present invention provides a new tab structure either integral with or separate from the flexure. Wires bridge over to an extension on the tab structure at a predetermined distance from the end of the load beam. Positioning holes, using the extreme flatness of the tab structure, align the wires with the bonding pads of a head. The suspension assembly is subsequently bonded to the head, and the unwanted tab structure is removed to complete the head suspension assembly.

  • Patent number: 5696306
Abstract: A decomposition inhibitor for hydrochlorofluorocarbons and hydrofluorocarbons (HCFCs/HFCs) which comprises at least one member of the class consisting of organic acid-amine mixtures, fluorine-free halogenated hydrocarbons, carboxylic acid esters, nitrile compounds, carbonyl compounds and halogenated nitro compounds. A method of inhibiting the decomposition of HCFCs/HFCs which comprises using the decomposition inhibitor mentioned above. In the field of polyurethane foam manufacture using HCFCs/HFCs as blowing agents, the effect of inhibiting the decomposition of HCFCs/HFCs can be produced over a long period of time covering the storage of raw materials, the foam manufacturing process and the use of foamed products.

  • Patent number: 5561172
Abstract: A primary object of the invention is to provide a method of producing rigid polyurethane foams using 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane (HCFC-141b) as the blowing agent while substantially avoiding the formation of decomposition products from HCFC-141b. The above object can be achieved by a method of producing rigid polyurethane foams which comprises reacting a polyol with an organic polyisocyanate for foaming in the presence of HCFC-141b and a stabilizer therefor and in the presence of an organic metal catalyst and/or an imidazole compound catalyst and by the thus-produced rigid polyurethane foams.
