  • Patent number: 7234881
Abstract: A molding die 1 is constituted by an upper die 1a and a lower die 1b which are made of a material transparent to an ultraviolet light, and has a cavity 3 constituted by grooves 2c, 2d, whereas a resin injection gate 4 and a resin exit gate 7 are provided so as to communicate with the cavity 3. A junction of an optical fiber 10 is inserted into the cavity 3. A UV-curable resin is injected into the cavity 3 surrounding an exposing portion of the glass optical fiber 11 from the resin injection gate 4 positioned at one of coating ends of the optical fiber 10, whereas a part thereof is discharged from the resin exit gate 7 positioned at the other coating end. The ultraviolet light is emitted through the lower die 1b so as to cure the resin, thereby forming a reinforcement resin coating. As a consequence, bubbles can be prevented from occurring due to the residual air within the reinforcement resin coating in the junction of the optical fiber 10.

  • Patent number: 7165849
Abstract: An image displayed on a liquid crystal panel is projected on a projection surface by a projection lens such that the optical axis of the projection lens is perpendicular to the projection surface. An optical axis of a distance measurement light and an optical axis of a light receiving lens are each inclined a specified angle with respect to the optical axis of the projection lens to be not perpendicular to the projection surface so as to reduce noise caused by specularly reflected light that otherwise would be detected by the distance measurement unit when a highly reflective whiteboard is utilized as the projection surface. The distance measurement unit is formed by unitizing a light emitting element, a light emitting lens, the light receiving lens, and a light receiving element, and the distance measurement unit is held with the projection lens by a common holder.

  • Publication number: 20050099609
Abstract: An image displayed on a liquid crystal panel is projected on a projection surface by a projection lens. An optical axis of a projection lens is perpendicular to the projection surface. However, alight emitting optical axis of a distance measurement light and an optical axis of a light receiving lens is inclined with respect to the optical axis of a projection lens, not to be perpendicular to the projection surface. A distance measurement unit is formed by unitizing a light emitting element, a light emitting lens, the light receiving lens, and a light receiving element, and the distance measurement unit is held with the projection lens by a common holder. Even if a surface like a whiteboard which has high reflectivity is used as the projection surface, high accuracy of the distance measurement is kept because diffused light from the light emitting lens, which is regularly reflected from the projection surface, is away from an effective photodetecting region of the light receiving element.

  • Publication number: 20030159472
Abstract: A laser beam emitted from a laser element is received by a laser receiver. The soot deposition process is carried out by controlling a growing shoot deposition surface at a constant specified position based upon information carried by the received laser beam. The laser receiver is provided with a filter for absorbing heat rays generated by a burner flame and a heat shielding plate made of material having a high heat resistance to prevent the temperature of the receiver from rising. The receiver is also cooled with a stream of cooling gas. The above-described arrangement can prevent the occurrence of malfunction of the sensor portion due to its temperature rise and assures the reliable position control of the soot deposition, achieving a high accuracy of the soot perform produced.

  • Patent number: 6472652
Abstract: Reflected light of each light beam projected toward an object at a distance to be measured is detected to provide a far signal and a near signal, and the far signal is compared with a preset clamp signal. The larger signal resulting from the comparison is outputted from a clamping circuit and a ratio of the output signal and the near signal is calculated to obtain an output ratio signal. Output ratio signals for light emissions from a light projecting unit are accumulated in an integration to produce an integral signal. The integral signal is transformed to a distance signal according to the distance by transformation equations selected based on whether the number of clamp signals outputted as output signals from the clamping circuit during the integration is larger than a set number.

  • Patent number: 6404992
Abstract: A timing pulse (DSCEXP signal) that is synchronous with a vertical driving signal (VD) of a CCD is sent from an electronic imaging device (DSC) to a CPU of a silver halide recording device (APS). A CPU of the DSC synchronizes the image-capturing of the CCD and the shutter-operation of the APS when the nth pulse (for example, the second pulse) of the vertical driving signal is generated since a command for exposure timing generated by the full press of a shutter release button is received. When an outside luminance is higher than a reference value and an electronic flash is to be used, there is a time lag for one vertical driving signal between the image-capturing of the CCD and the shutter-operation of the APS.

  • Patent number: 6393223
Abstract: An electric current is supplied from a power source to a motor for transporting a film through a switching element (a transistor). A regenerate current is generated from the motor when the current supply is cut, and the regenerate current is returned to the motor through a switching element (a first MOS FET). The switching elements are turned on and off according to the state of a second MOS FET. When the second MOS FET is turned on, the transistor is turned on and the first MOS FET is turned off, and this drives the motor. When the second MOS FET is turned off, the transistor is turned off and the first MOS FET is turned on, and this stops the motor.

  • Patent number: 6208812
Abstract: A camera has a bar code reader for reading a bar code from a roll film loaded therein. Bar code data read from the bar code is checked out whether it has a proper format or not. If the bar code data read from the bar code of the loaded roll film is proper, the bar code data is written in a nonvolatile memory, and the camera is set up in accordance with the bar code data. The bar code data of the nonvolatile memory is renewed each time proper bar code data is obtained. If the bar code data read from the bar code of the loaded roll film is improper, a display device displays film data represented by bar code data having been stored in the nonvolatile memory, along with an error indicia. If the displayed film data is invalid for the loaded roll film, the photographer enters film data of the loaded roll film through manual operation switches. Then, the camera is set up with the manually entered film data. If no film data is manually entered, the camera is set up in accordance with the displayed film data.
