  • Patent number: 5365295
Abstract: A film transporting system for a photographic camera is adapted to advance a film roll loaded in the camera by one frame upon replacement of a source battery. A film transporter including an electric motor, or the like, is actuated to selectively perform film advance or film rewinding. A film travel detector detects that the film roll has been advanced by a predetermined amount and applies a signal to the film transporter. Operation of the film transporter is stopped by this signal. Upon replacement of the source battery, the film transporter advances the film roll by one frame, and thereupon the film transporter is stopped under control of the film travel detector. Accordingly, upon replacement of the source battery, the film roll is advanced by one frame in readiness for a next photograph.

  • Patent number: 5349407
Abstract: A film transporter is coupled to a counter which counts the number of used film frames. A film detector detects a film when the count signal is "0," i.e., a state where the counter for counting the number of used film frames is reset. When it is detected that the camera has no film roll loaded therein, the film transporter is disabled to advance or rewind the film roll. There is provided a film travel detector adapted to stop further travel of the film roll after the number of pulses output every time the film roll travels by one frame has reached a predetermined number and, when the camera has the film roll loaded therein, the predetermined number is changed depending whether the count signal is "0," so that a common control system effects initial film advance and advance of each frame following the initial film advance.

  • Patent number: 5275848
Abstract: A process for preparing a laminate by coating the surfaces of a metal substrate that has been treated with an anchor coating agent, with a modified olefin type resin and heat-adhering the olefin resin onto the surfaces of the metal substrate. The process of this invention is characterized by applying heat-treatment to the laminate at the time of adhesion or after the adhesion in the presence of a treating agent which consists of a compound prescribed in the general formulae (1) and (2). ##STR1## The laminate prepared by this process withstands deterioration of adhesion caused by aging, particularly in an atmosphere where water is present.

  • Patent number: 5257060
Abstract: A CPU writes in a RAM various data obtained in a rangefinding procedure, e.g. offset values, gain values, data actually measured using a series of rangefinding LEDs, corresponding distance data obtained from each of the measurement data, and the optimum distance data used for setting a taking lens. When specifying an inspection mode, a microcomputer reads these written data out of the RAM to indicate them on an LCD numerically. Light emitting diode displays output the write data as light signals in intermittent light emission. To correct an error in the mounting position of the rangefinding LEDs, correction data are generated and written beforehand in an erasable ROM.

  • Patent number: 5184166
Abstract: A self-photographing method for an autofocus camera, wherein, upon depression of a shutter release button, the subject distance data are detected a plurality of times at periodic intervals, and a predetermined exposure operation, that is, an actual shutter release operation is automatically executed using the autofocus system when the detected subject distance data have changed from each other. The distance data are repeatedly detected and compared with each other until these distance data differ from each other. If the distance data have been equal for a predetermined time interval from the shutter release button depression, then the actual shutter release operation is executed, or is called off and the self-photographing is terminated. It is preferred that the detected change of distance be a decrease of distance, indicating that the photographer has stepped into the picture, whereupon the measured distance becomes his distance in place of the background distance.

  • Patent number: 5159378
Abstract: A range finding device having a light projector and a light receiver. The light projector has a mirror for reflecting toward a subject near-infrared light emitted laterally from an IRED. The mirror has a reflection surface extending farther in a direction perpendicular to the base line direction than in the base line direction. According to the embodiment of this invention, for a light source unit, a base plate holding a plurality of IREDs is packaged in a transparent plastic package. The base plate is formed with arms extending out of the package. The light source unit is fixed on the camera body by the arms. The light receiver also uses a base plate with the similar arms.

  • Patent number: 5148211
Abstract: A range finding device having a plurality of LEDs for projecting toward a scene to be photographed a plurality of spot beams of light disposed in a horizontal line, and a PSD for receiving light reflected from the object. Two channel signals from the PSD are amplified by gain control amplifiers and converted into digital signals. The two channel digital signals are obtained for each LED, and the ratio between the two digital signals is used for calculating a distance datum. Of a plurality of distance data obtained for respective LEDs, an optimum one is selected. For the calculation of a distance datum, there is used a microcomputer which controls an image taking sequence. The gain of the gain control amplifier is automatically adjusted by the measured data obtained in accordance with pulsed light emitted during the initial period of driving the LED. Digital signals obtained prior to the light emission of the LED are used for calculating an offset correction value.

  • Patent number: 4386332
Abstract: A magnetic circuit for a dynamic speaker which can be manufactured inexpensively without the need of machining. The magnetic circuit includes an annularly-shaped magnet, a pole yoke having a backplate coupled to a first surface of the magnet and a pole yoke extending from a central portion of the back plate through a hole in the annularly-shaped magnet, and an annular top plate coupled to a second surface of the magnet with an air gap being formed between the top plate and the center pole. A tapered groove is formed in the back plate along a circumferential direction of the base of the center pole tapering outwardly toward the magnet. The groove extends beyond a region defined by the inner diameter of the magnet.

  • Patent number: 4006728
Abstract: Room heating apparatus having a burner disposed in the upper part of a body to which air for combustion is forcibly supplied from a blower, a heat exchanger and a combustion chamber serially connected below the burner, and a second blower for recycling air from the room over the outer surfaces of the heat exchanger and the combustion chamber being disposed in the bottom of the body. The combustion chamber and the heat exchanger are substantially flat-shaped in configuration being on the order of ten times their thickness in both height and width.Accordingly, the room heating apparatus is a compact heating unit having high thermal efficiency, and the blower for recycling air can be protected from damage due to heat of the burner, even in the event the blower is accidentally stopped.
