  • Publication number: 20140248172
Abstract: A scroll compressor includes a housing, a fixed scroll, and a movable scroll. A compression chamber is formed between the movable scroll and the fixed scroll. An opposing wall is located in and fixed to the housing. A back pressure region is formed between the opposing wall and the movable scroll, and a back pressure in the back pressure region urges the movable scroll toward the fixed scroll. An annular sealing member is arranged between the movable scroll and the opposing wall. The movable scroll includes a holding portion that holds the sealing member. The sealing member includes a rubber portion, which elastically deforms in the holding portion, and a resin portion, which is made of a material harder than the rubber portion. The resin portion at least partially projects out of the holding portion toward the opposing wall. The resin portion is in contact with the opposing wall.

Abstract: A scroll compressor includes a housing having therein a discharge pressure region, a compression pressure region and a suction pressure region; a fixed scroll to form a discharge chamber as the discharge pressure region; and a movable scroll cooperating with the fixed scroll to form a compression chamber as the compression pressure region. The discharge pressure region includes an oil separation chamber connected to at least one of the compression pressure region and the suction pressure region through an oil supply passage having a flow restrictor. The flow restrictor is provided by a gap between an oil supply hole formed in the fixed scroll and an insertion member inserted in the oil supply hole. The gap is in the form of a spiral groove provided in at least one of an inner peripheral surface of the oil supply hole and an outer peripheral surface of the insertion member.

The fixed scroll member and the movable scroll member cooperatively form a compression region. The movable scroll member orbits relative to the fixed scroll member to compress refrigerant in the compression region. Each scroll wall is formed in a taper shape from each base plate toward each distal end of the scroll wall. The distal end is non-contact with the opposing scroll base plate. Clearance between the distal end and the opposing scroll base plate is less than or equal to the limit clearance value which maintains airtight performance.

  • Publication number: 20020098100
Abstract: A scroll material 160 for the production of a scroll is cast, a scroll portion 54 thereof is left as cast, and the portions other than the scroll portion 54 are machine-worked. Positioning portions 168, 169, and 170 and an engagement hole 172 are cast together with the scroll portion 54 of the scroll material 160, etc., in a die-casting process. In a machine working process, an engagement portion 248 of a holding jaw 234 is engaged with the engagement hole 172 of the positioning portion 168 and at the same time the positioning portions 168, 169, and 170 are held with the holding jaws 234, 236 and 238 of a chuck 230. In this state, the outer side surface of the base 162 opposite to the scroll portion 54, etc., are cutting-worked with work tools. Using the positioning portions 168, 169, and 170 as the work basis is almost equal to using the scroll portion 54 as the work basis, and a movable scroll, having a high relative positioning accuracy between the scroll portion 54 and other portions, can be manufactured.
