  • Publication number: 20070169166
Abstract: Data broadcast data, which is broadcast in data broadcasts, is constructed by disposing, for example, EMD (Electric Music Distribution) links required to acquire song data as actual broadcast data, which is broadcast in actual broadcasts by a transmitting device, the actual broadcast data is transmitted, and the data broadcast data wherein the EMD links for the song data in the actual broadcasts are disposed, is transmitted periodically during the transmission of the actual broadcast data. The actual broadcast data and the data broadcast data are received by a user terminal, and the EMD links disposed in the data broadcast data are stored whenever there is an input of an operation to attach a “bookmark”. Thus, audio data such as songs in programs broadcast can easily be acquired by radio.

  • Patent number: 7242654
Abstract: A data recording medium has plural recording areas. The recording medium includes a first recording area for recording data allocated with address data, a second recording area for recording data having allocated address data different from the address data allocated to the data recorded in the first recording area, and identification data recorded in the second recording area for discriminating the first and second recording areas from each other.

  • Patent number: 7242767
Abstract: Data is recorded in a first part PA1 in accordance with a signal format same as that of an existing CD at the lower limit (1.5 ?m) of an allowable value of a Wreck pitch and the lower limit (1.2 m/sec) of a linear velocity. As a result, the data for the maximum regeneration time (74.7 min) can be recorded in the first part PA1. An existing CD reproducing apparatus can reproduce the audio data recorded in the first part PA1 with no problem. Moreover, compressed and encrypted audio data is recorded in a second part PA2 at a single density or a double density. The single density represents a recording density same as that of an existing CD and the double density represents a density two time larger than the single density. Furthermore, the audio data recorded in the second part PA2 is charged when reproduced in order to protect copyrights. The format of the data recorded in the second part PA2 uses the format of a CD-ROM.

  • Publication number: 20070147207
Abstract: According to the type of each of a plurality of external input interfaces, it is decided whether digital watermark information is to be detected from data entered via the external input interface. Digital watermark information is not detected from data entered via the external input interface and from which it has been decided not to detect any digital watermark information, but the data is recorded. Thus, there can be provided a data recording apparatus which is not applied with a any heavy load owing to the omission of any unnecessary detection of digital watermark information.

  • Patent number: 7233267
Abstract: A recording method, wherein, when a certain portion of main data is recorded by being encoded by a first encoding method and the other portions of the main data is recorded by being encoded by a second encoding method, an encoding process is performed by the first encoding method so that, when data which is recorded in such a manner that the data encoded by the first encoding method is decoded by a decoding method corresponding to the first encoding method, and thereafter, is further encoded by the second encoding method, is decoded by a decoding method corresponding to the second encoding method, the sum value of DC components per unit time increases.

  • Patent number: 7231520
Abstract: A method of recording data from a recorder to a recording medium, where it is judged whether a terminal unit having user identification information recorded in memory therein is connected to the recorder. When the terminal unit is found connected, an encryption key is exchanged between the recorder and terminal unit, user identification information read from the memory of the terminal unit is encrypted with the exchanged encryption key, sent from the terminal unit to the recorder, and the encrypted user identification information is recorded to the recording medium.

  • Patent number: 7221636
Abstract: A method is provided for recording medium having a substrate on which first data and second data are recorded as a protrusion/depression pattern and a reflective layer that is provided on a surface having the protrusion/depression pattern. Laser light is radiated to the reflective layer to change the protrusion/depression pattern of the second data, and third data used for identifying the recording medium is additionally recorded at a predetermined position on the recording medium.

  • Patent number: 7215260
Abstract: Six record areas for predetermined data that has been encoded and digitally modulated are formed in a data record area on a disc. The record areas have different offset compensation amounts. The offset compensation amounts allow all offset amounts that may take place in an error correction code encoder to be compensated. Thus, regardless of the offset amount generated by the error correction code encoder, encoded and modulated data that has been generated by the conventional EFM modulating system and recorded in one of the record areas securely causes DSV to deviate. Each of the record areas is set to a sufficient length that allows the effect of which DSV deviates to be recognized.

  • Patent number: 7203141
Abstract: A recording medium has a first area in which data encoded with a first error correction code is recorded and a second area in which data encoded with the first error correction code and data decodable with a second error correction code that is different from the first error correction code are mixedly recorded. Data that causes the cumulated value of a DC component per unit period of data reproduced from the second area to deviate is recorded in the second area.
