    Abstract: A performance testing apparatus for a heat pipe includes a heating set, a cooling set, and a supporting set supporting the heating set and the cooling set thereon. Position and orientation of the heating and cooling sets on the supporting set are adjustable. The heating set includes a first immovable portion and a first movable portion cooperatively defining a first channel therebetween for receiving an evaporating section of the heat pipe. A temperature sensor is exposed to the first channel for detecting temperature of the evaporating section. A cooling set includes a second immovable portion and a second movable portion cooperatively defining a second channel therebetween for receiving a condensing section of the heat pipe. A temperature sensor is exposed to the second channel for detecting temperature of the condensing section of the heat pipe.

The light source is attached to the heat-absorbing surface, whereby heat generated by the light source is removed by the heat sink. The heat-absorbing surface is one of a convex surface and a concave surface, whereby light emitted from the light source is diverged or converged towards objects.

The heat sink includes a plurality of umbrella-shaped fins each including a main body perpendicular to the condenser section of the heat pipe and two flanges angling downward from two opposite edges of the main body towards the light source. A plurality of air venting holes are defined in the main body and the flanges of each fin.

    Abstract: An LED lamp includes an optical part, a heat dissipation part and an electric part. The optical part includes main and auxiliary LED light sources thermally attached to the heat dissipation part. The electric part includes a rechargeable battery and a circuitry for converting an external AC power source into first and second DC power sources. The auxiliary LED light source is connected to the first DC power source for providing an auxiliary illumination when the external AC power source is normally supplied or to the rechargeable battery for providing an emergency illumination when the external AC power source is interrupted. The main LED light source is connected to the second DC power source for providing normal illumination when the external AC power source is supplied normally. Photoelectric switches are also provided for controlling the action of the auxiliary LED light source.

A vapor passage (70) is formed inside of the casing and a liquid channel (80) is defined by the capillary wick. The working fluid in vapor state flows from the evaporating section towards the condensing section along the vapor passage and the working fluid in liquid state returns to the evaporating section from the condensing section along the liquid channel. The tube separates the vapor from the liquid at a place where the tube is located.

The apparatus includes a vacuum pump, a liquid-storage tank and a set of processing device, as used respectively for the above vacuuming, liquid-filling and sealing steps. By this apparatus, the heat-dissipation device can be manufactured at a same place without the requirement to shift the casing from one place to another place during the manufacture of the heat-dissipation device.
