  • Publication number: 20030198808
Abstract: The present invention provides a heat shading glass including a glass sheet and a heat shading film formed on the glass sheet. The heat shading film comprises a first metal oxide film, a first Ag film, a second metal oxide film, a second Ag film, and a third metal oxide film, layered in that order on the glass sheet. The oxide films include indium oxide containing tin oxide. An X-ray diffraction chart of the heat shading film shows a diffraction peak of the indium oxide as well as a diffraction peak of the Ag. Thus, as a heat shading laminated glass, it can be used as window glass for buildings or vehicles, has superior visible light transmittance, reflects infrared radiation, has colorless transmission color and reflection color, and has superior durability.

  • Patent number: 6592996
Abstract: A solar-shading light-transmissive panel has a light-transmissive sheet, an absorbing layer disposed on said light-transmissive sheet, a first transparent dielectric layer disposed on said absorbing layer, an Ag-rich layer comprising Ag as a main component disposed on said first transparent dielectric layer, and a second transparent dielectric layer disposed on said Ag-rich layer. The solar-shading light-transmissive panel, which basically has the four layers and can be manufactured relatively inexpensively, has an ornamentally excellent appearance, a relatively high solar-shalding capability, and a relatively high visible light transmittance.

  • Publication number: 20030103726
Abstract: The optical device, capable of reducing reflectance over a wide wavelength region, has an anti-reflection film interposed between a rod lens and an optical fiber. The anti-reflection film includes a plurality of laminas. The refractive index of the lamina contiguous to the optical fiber is matched with that of the optical fiber, while the refractive index of the lamina contiguous to the rod lens is matched with that of the rod lens. The laminas are set to have refractive indices such that the refractive index of the optical fiber and that of the rod lens are connected to each other to form a smooth curve.

  • Publication number: 20020044359
Abstract: A reflection type diffraction grating according to the present invention has a structure in which a metal film as a first layer with reflectance not lower than 30% with respect to the wavelength of incident light and a transparent dielectric film as a second layer are laminated successively on the surface of the reflection type diffraction grating. With respect to the wavelength of incident light, the metal film has a refractive index selected to be not higher than 1.5 and an extinction coefficient selected to be not smaller than 6.0. The transparent dielectric film has a refractive index selected to be in a range of from 1.30 to 1.46, both inclusively, with respect to the wavelength of incident light and has an optical film thickness selected to be in a range of from 0.20&lgr; to 0.38&lgr;, both inclusively, when &lgr;is the wavelength of incident light.

  • Publication number: 20020024731
Abstract: A polarizing filter has a laminate structure: wherein one to four layers of first dielectric thin films 1 and one to four layers of second dielectric thin films 2 are alternately laminated on a transparent flat substrate 10 to form the laminate structure, the layers of second dielectric thin films 2 having a refractive index lower than that of the first dielectric thin films 1 with respect to the wavelength of incident light; wherein one layer of the third dielectric thin film 3 having a refractive index intermediate between the refractive indices of the first and second dielectric thin films with respect to the wavelength of incident light is laminated on a surface of the laminate structure. In an optical device using the polarizing filter, the angle of incidence is set to be in a range of from 20 to 70 degrees.

  • Patent number: 6313577
Abstract: A face panel for a cathode-ray tube is coated with an antireflection film by forming, on the outer surface thereof in this order, a 44.9 nm-thick praseodymium titanate film as a first layer, a 4.9 nm-thick film of a nickel-iron alloy as a second layer, a 53.4 nm-thick praseodymium titanate film as a third layer, a 3.9 nm-thick film of a nickel-iron alloy as a fourth layer, a 20.6 nm-thick praseodymium titanate film as a fifth layer, and an 84.7 nm-thick magnesium fluoride film as a sixth layer. This coated face panel is free from the problem that conventional cathode-ray tube face panels coated on the outer surface with an antireflection film comprising superposed metal films and transparent dielectric films make the cathode-ray tubes exhibit double images although effective in diminishing the reflection of external light on the surface of the cathode-ray tubes and in enhancing display contrast.
