  • Publication number: 20110226398
Abstract: A pneumatic tire is provided with a main groove extending along a tire circumferential direction in a tread. A side wall of a land portion facing the main groove extends so as to be inclined with respect to a tire circumferential direction between a pair of corner portions. The corner portion positioned in an inner side in a width direction of the main groove is set to an inner corner portion and the corner portion positioned in an outer side is set to an outer corner portion. In the inner corner portion, the side wall is formed by a stepped surface expanding to the outer side in the width direction toward a groove bottom and an expansion to the outer side in the width direction in the stepped surface is made smaller from the inner corner portion toward the outer corner portion.

  • Publication number: 20110220258
Abstract: A pneumatic tire has a tread that is provided with a plurality of blocks comparted in a tire circumferential direction by a lateral groove. A sipe formed in each of the blocks has a narrow portion that is open in a tread surface, and a wide portion that is communicated with an inner side in a tire diametrical direction of the narrow portion and is widened than the narrow portion. The wide portion gradually increases a widening length in one side in a width direction and gradually decreases a widening length in other side in the width direction, from one end portion of the sipe toward other end portion, and accompanies an angle change at a time of appearing on the tread surface due to a progress of a wear.

  • Publication number: 20110005654
Abstract: The present invention provides a pneumatic tire that can exhibit high ice performance throughout a period of use of the tire, and can reduce a rejection rate without complicating production of the tire. The pneumatic tire includes: a plurality of land portions 4 partitioned by grooves 2 and 3 and formed in a tread surface 1a; and a sipe 5 formed in each of the land portions 4, wherein a plurality of first protrusions 7 are formed on only one of sipe inner wall surfaces 6 and 6 opposed to each other in the sipe 5, each of the first protrusions 7 continuing in a tire depth direction from the tread surface 1a to a sipe bottom 8 and protruding toward an opposite sipe inner wall surface, the first protrusion 7 is tapered toward the opposite sipe inner wall surface, a narrow portion 7a is provided between the tread surface 1a and the sipe bottom 8, and a second protrusion 9 protruding toward the opposite sipe inner wall surface is formed between narrow portions 7a of adjacent first protrusions.

  • Publication number: 20100243119
Abstract: A pneumatic tire has a sipe is formed in a land portion of a tread surface. The sipe has a wide region in which a sipe width is made larger than a tread at position which is at a distance from the tread. The wide region is constructed by alternately providing a concave groove extending in a depth direction of the sipe in both sides of a sipe wall surface along a longitudinal direction of the sipe.

  • Publication number: 20100236679
Abstract: A pneumatic tire comprises grooves 1 to 3 formed in a tread and land portions 4 each having an acute angle portion 5 formed by the grooves 2 and 3. The acute angle portion 5 is chamfered by a plurality of chamfered surfaces 11 and 12 to form into a step shape by the chamfered surfaces 11 and 12 and a connecting surface 21 that connects the adjacent chamfered surfaces 11 and 12. Furthermore, from one sidewall to the other sidewall of the acute angle portion 5 at an end 6 of the acute angle portion 5, a height H1 of the chamfered surface 11 and a height H2 of the chamfered surface 12 are gradually decreased while a length L1 of the chamfered surface 11 and a length L2 of the chamfered surface 12 are gradually increased.
