  • Patent number: 7814509
Abstract: A receiving apparatus receives a broadcast program in a manner convenient for users depending on the content of the broadcast program. A tuner selects a broadcast program that matches the preference of users of respective rooms in a building in which the receiving apparatus is installed on the basis of preference information stored in a memory. Sensors disposed in the respective rooms detect whether the users are present in the respective rooms. A controller controls selectors so as to select displays and speakers located in rooms in which users are present so that the users in the respective rooms can view and/or listen to the program. The receiving apparatus may be applied to a television set or the like.

  • Publication number: 20100253843
Abstract: A video processor card stores tap generation information for determining a predetermined tap coefficient when the tap generation information is used together with tap generation information stored in another video processor card, and supplies a video processing interface with the tap generation information. The video processing interface generates the tap coefficient from the tap generation information of the one video processor card and the other video processor card loaded therein. The video processing interface extracts video data having a predictive tap used to predict a target pixel and video data having a class tap used to classify the target data, and class classifies the target data based on the class tap. The video processing interface determine the target pixel based on the tap coefficient and the predictive tap of the class of the target pixel.

  • Patent number: 7810128
Abstract: An information processing apparatus, including a user-information analyzing unit which analyzes user information and calculates a variation in parameter. A procedure selecting unit classifies, based on the calculated amount, the user into a predetermined group, and acquires, from a procedure database, a procedure corresponding to the group of the user. A basic part producing unit records, in a product's ROM, various set values. Based on the result of analysis by the user-information analyzing unit, a unique part producing unit records an initial parameter value in the product's ROM. A system controller controls a storage unit to store a characteristic amount extracted by an image-characteristic-amount extracting unit and setting conditions on the image processing which are supplied from a remote control signal receiving circuit so that both are associated to each other. The present invention may apply to television receivers.

  • Patent number: 7792380
Abstract: A user interface unit sets a parameter based on operations of a user, and outputs to a parameter correction unit. The parameter correction unit extracts the feature quantity of pixels in an observation region that corresponds to the value of the parameter, and based on the maximal value of that feature quantity, corrects the parameter specified by the user as the correction parameter. A blurring correction unit corrects input image data based on the correction parameter, and generates image data of the image wherein the blurring has been corrected. The present invention can be applied, for example, to a digital camera.

  • Patent number: 7782959
Abstract: An image processing device comprising a process generation section and a plurality of series-connected operation processing units. Each of the series-connected operation processing units receives a process packet output from the process generation section and performs any processing according to an instruction contained in the process packet. The units are divided into three suites and route selection sections are respectively inserted to input side of each of the suites. If the unit which executes a process related to an input process packet is not included in the immediately following one of the suites, the respective route selection sections supply this corresponding input process packet not to the input side of that one of the suites but to the output side of that suite. The process packet moves as bypassing such a suite as not to have the unit that executes a process related to this process data, thereby reducing its processing time and its power dissipation.

  • Patent number: 7777811
Abstract: An enlarged image is displayed using a plurality of television sets. A television set serving as a master device and television sets serving as slave devices convert an input image into partial enlarged images and display the resultant partial enlarged images so that the partial enlarged images displayed on the respective television sets form, as a whole, a complete enlarged full image. The master device and slave devices perform mutual authentication with each other. If the authentication is successfully passed, the operation mode is set so that displaying of an enlarged image is allowed.

  • Patent number: 7773150
Abstract: An apparatus for use in conversion of an SD signal into an HD signal. The pixel data sets of a tap corresponding to an objective position in the HD signal are extracted selectively from the SD signal. Class CL to which pixel data set of the objective position belongs is then obtained using the pixel data sets of the tap. A coefficient production circuit produces coefficient data sets Wi for each class based on coefficient seed data sets for each class and values of picture quality adjusting parameters, h and v obtained by user operation. A tap selection circuit selectively extracts the data sets xi of the tap corresponding to the objective position in the HD signal from the SD signal and then, a calculation circuit produces the pixel data sets of the objective position in the HD signal according to an estimation equation using the data sets xi and the coefficient data sets Wi corresponding to the class CL read out of a memory.

  • Publication number: 20100195200
Abstract: The present invention relates to a screen, a control method, a program, and a recording medium that can provide audio and video at an optimal position for a user. A beam 111 is fixed to a frame 24. The beam 111 is connected to a beam 112 through a rotation shaft 113. Wheels 23A, 23B are fixed to the beam 112, and the wheels 23A, 23B allows movement along a rail provided in a ceiling. A speaker, a display, etc., is mounted on the frame 24. In a case in which the speaker is mounted, when the frame 24 is rotated around the rotation shaft 113, the front surface of the speaker can be directed toward a position of a user. The present invention may be applied to, for example, a screen speaker device.

  • Publication number: 20100198426
Abstract: A partition, a control device and method, a program, and a recording medium that can enhance the acoustic effect. Partitions are set in a room beforehand. The partitions are movable along a guide provided in a ceiling. In the room, furniture and a speaker are set. When sound from the speaker is reflected by the furniture and the reflected sound is given to a user, the acoustic effect is lessened. Accordingly, the partitions are moved in front of the furniture. Further, the partitions are moved so as to be symmetrically arranged with respect to the speaker. The movement of the partitions can produce an acoustic space in which the reflected sound is uniform. The present invention is applicable to a partition that enhances the acoustic effect.

  • Patent number: 7760156
Abstract: On the transmission side, a background picture and objects #1 to #3 are transmitted at a transmission rate R/4 each. On the reception side, a picture composed of the objects #1 to #3 and the background picture is displayed with a particular spatial resolution and a particular temporal resolution. Thus, on the reception side, when the object #1 is dragged at particular time t1, on the transmission side, the transmission of the background picture and the objects #2 and #3 is stopped. Only the object #1 is transmitted at the transmission rate R of the transmission path. Therefore, a picture of which the spatial resolution of the object #1 dragged is improved is displayed at the sacrifice of the temporal resolution of the picture.

  • Patent number: 7755663
Abstract: In an image signal processor, a camera operation estimating part detects a movement vector of an input image in order to estimate, for example, a panning operation in a horizontal direction, a tilting operation in a vertical direction, or a zooming operation such as zooming-in or zooming-out. An image output part reads a particular image signal before and after a camera operation from image signals stored in an image storage memory. The particular image signal is then outputted and displayed on a display means. Further, when there is a plurality of display means, an image before and after the camera operation and an image that is currently broadcast are displayed separately on each of the plurality of display means.
