  • Publication number: 20010018315
Abstract: When electric elements are formed on a ceramic bar or the like, the positional displacement of the respective elements occurs due to a division exposing process or the like. An object of the present invention is to provide a device and a method which unify the non-polished portion of the respective elements by conducting polishing while a complicated deformation or the like is given to the ceramic bar. To achieve this object, the ceramic bar or like is held by using a jig, and a plurality of loads are applied to portions of the jig where the ceramic bar or the like is held, to thereby deform the ceramic bar or the like and polish the element in that state. In this situation the load applied points are disposed so as to avoid the boundaries of the division exposure.

  • Patent number: 5473425
Abstract: An apparatus for inspecting the outward appearance of each of IC packages stored in an embossed tape includes a drive wheel having an outer periphery about which the embossed tape is wound. The drive wheel is rotatable in a vertical plane for moving the embossed tape. A pair of cameras are so mounted as to face the outer periphery of the drive wheel at its upwardly and downwardly moving portions, respectively, and are used to produce two different images of each IC package from two different angles through a cover tape bonded to the embossed tape for enclosing the IC packages. The apparatus prevents any diffused reflection of light by the cover tape and any inclination of each IC package during its inspection.

  • Patent number: 5404775
Abstract: A nut runner for applying torque to a workpiece such as nut, bolt or the like positioned at a right-angle to the fastening device. The nut runner includes a motor, a speed reduction gear assembly, a right-angle bevel gear system, a planetary gear system, an in-line torque transducer disposed between the bevel gear system and the planetary gear system, a torque reading transmitter, and a workpiece engaging member. The bevel gear system, planetary gear system and torque transducer form a concentrated assembly which provides for a compact nut runner to access confined assembly areas. The motor causes the engaging member to rotate. The torque transducer senses the torque and the torque reading transmitter sends the reading to an operator or controller which interrupts the power supply to the nut runner when a predetermined torque is reached.

  • Patent number: 5383370
Abstract: A device for verifying or measuring a minimum value of a previously applied torque on a workpiece such as bolt, nut, etc., includes a motor, a reduction gear assembly, a torque transducer and a fastener engaging member, including a rotatably spindle. The motor causes the spindle to rotate. A torsion bar interposed the spindle and the motor absorbs the inertia of the motor when the motor is stopped to minimize torque overshoot, as well as taking up the rotation generated by the motor immediately upon engagement with a workpiece. An angle encoder senses any rotation of the workpiece caused by the rotation of the spindle. Any rotation of the workpiece means that the previously applied torque is below a minimum predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 5230137
Abstract: A method for fastening together two or more parts with a fastener through fastening holes where either the fastener is misaligned with the holes or the fastener and one of the parts are both misaligned with the fastening hole of the other part. A depression having a throughbore is formed in one part and defines one fastening hole and cooperates with a self-tapping fastener to fasten the parts together and bring the fastener into alignment with the parts. The depression deforms to accomplish the alignment of the fastener and the parts.
