Patent number: 7796098Abstract: A light emitting device is provided which is capable of feeding a reverse current to the defective structural part of a light emitting element, e.g. an organic EL element, without using the power supply voltage as reverse bias. The light emitting device comprises a capacitive light emitting element, e.g. an organic EL element, emitting light upon application of a DC forward voltage. A reverse current can be fed to the light emitting element through a low-resistance defective structural part, for example, only by connecting both electrodes of the organic EL element with the earth after stopping application of the DC forward voltage using a push-pull circuit (5), thereby discharging residual charges of the light emitting element.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2003Date of Patent: September 14, 2010Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Ken-ichi Masumoto, Tetsuroh Nakamura

Patent number: 7652803Abstract: The object of the invention is to extend the life of the light source while uniformizing the illuminance intensity in the main scanning direction. The invention is based on a light source of image reading apparatus comprised of film layers laminated on a transparent substrate in the order of a transparent electrode, an area light emitter and a metal electrode, and emitting light by impressing a specific voltage on these two electrodes. And an area light emitter column configured by arranging area light emitters corresponding to each color of R (red), G (green) and B (blue) in the sub scanning direction, or a monochrome area light emitter is arranged repeatedly in the main scanning direction. Accordingly, even when somewhere in the light emitting element has a defect like the film thickness is thin, the current gathering at this point with the low resistance value becomes a very small volume. Therefore, it would not occur that the film burns out from here.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2007Date of Patent: January 26, 2010Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Tetsuroh Nakamura, Masakazu Mizusaki, Ken-ichi Masumoto

Patent number: 7512301Abstract: An image reader for reading an image drawn on a paper or a sheet-like recording medium, an image processor provided with the image reader, such as a copying machine, a scanner and the like, and a fiber lens to be applied to those devices. The image processor has to be large in the whole size of device to read both sides of an original. Therefore, the image processor of the present invention comprises an image reader (10a) on the upper side of transport path and an image reader (10b) on the lower side of that respectively. In order to downsize the device, it is necessary to shorten the diameter of optical fiber (140) of the fiber lens (14) installed in the imager reader as light receiving means. In this case, the optical fiber (140) is provided with a light-absorbing layer 8(143) around of the optical fiber (140) in order to restrain the crosstalk and the flare phenomenon. The illuminance of light source means (15) installed in the image reader gets smaller as the device is downsized.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2005Date of Patent: March 31, 2009Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Tetsuroh Nakamura, Masaichiro Tatekawa

Patent number: 7463275Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a light source provided with converting structure for converting an advancing direction of light emitted from the light source, whereby a direction in which the light source is disposed can be determined regardless of a direction in which light is emitted. The advancing direction of the light emitted from a light emitting element is converted into a direction in which light transmitting structure can transmit the light, so that a luminous intensity on a photosensitive drum can be increased. The light source is designed so as to increase a light emitting area of the light emitting element and condense light emitted therefrom. The light emitting element utilizes a flat luminous unit, which is combined with a light transmitting structure in one optical piece.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2003Date of Patent: December 9, 2008Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Tetsuroh Nakamura, Ken-ichi Masumoto, Yuji Toyomura, Takafumi Hamano, Akira Gyotoku, Hideki Maruyama

Patent number: 7154452Abstract: The invention has an object to provide the electronic paper file, which an electronic paper can be attached to or detached from by providing a connecting terminal including the physical or electrical connecting function to both the electronic paper and the main unit. Since the display data is to be displayed on the nonvolatile display medium fitted to the display of the electronic paper, the electronic paper detached from the main unit can retain the display content. Since the connecting terminal fitted to the main unit is fixed to the rotatable rotatable axis, it is possible to retain the desired page with keeping double-pages spread.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2001Date of Patent: December 26, 2006Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tetsuroh Nakamura, Masaichiro Tatekawa, Hiroyuki Matsuo

Publication number: 20060125384Abstract: With a conventional organic light emitting element, the pixel formation accuracy is controlled by the pattern formation accuracy of an electrode provided on the top surface of an organic layer. Since this electrode pattern must be formed after an organic layer is formed, only the vapor deposition method with low pattern formation accuracy is available. It makes it difficult to form homogenous and fine pixels. In a production method of an organic light emitting element in this invention, after forming a first electrode composed of a transparent electrode and a metal layer, an organic layer coats the transparent electrodes exposed by removing those portions of a metal layer corresponding to pixels, a second electrode is formed on the organic layer. In this method, the pixel formation accuracy depends on only a metal layer removing accuracy. Since the metal layer is removed before the organic layer is formed, the photolithographic technique can be applied to enable homogeneous and fine pixels to be formed.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2003Publication date: June 15, 2006Inventors: Tsuneharu Tomita, Tetsuroh Nakamura, Ken-ichi Masumoto, Akira Gyotoku, Takafumi Hamano, Yuji Tomomura
