Patent number: 6933487Abstract: An image reader for reading an image drawn on a paper or a sheet-like recording medium, an image processor provided with the image reader, such as a copying machine, a scanner and the like, and a fiber lens to be applied to those devices. The image processor has to be large in the whole size of device to read both sides of an original. Therefore, the image processor of the present invention comprises an image reader (10a) on the upper side of transport path and an image reader (10b) on the lower side of that respectively. In order to downsize the device, it is necessary to shorten the diameter of optical fiber (140) of the fiber lens (14) installed in the imager reader as light receiving means. In this case, the optical fiber (140) is provided with a light-absorbing layer 8 (143) around of the optical fiber (140) in order to restrain the crosstalk and the flare phenomenon. The illuminance of light source means (15) installed in the image reader gets smaller as the device is downsized.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2001Date of Patent: August 23, 2005Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tetsuroh Nakamura, Masaichiro Tatekawa

Patent number: 6891328Abstract: A light source using electroluminescence layers of which width and thickness are adjusted so that emission luminance does not depend on the position on the layer. Also, a light source using red, green and blue electroluminescences light media for a color source of which the width and thickness are so adjusted that the required emission luminance can be obtained from electroluminescences for the respective colors. In light sources using electroluminescence not adjusted in width and thickness as light medium, emission luminance is different from position to position, especially in the direction along the longitudinal direction.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2002Date of Patent: May 10, 2005Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tetsuroh Nakamura, Masaichiro Tatekawa

Patent number: 6717751Abstract: A size-reduced image reading apparatus for optically reading an image drawn on the document surface. The size reduction is achieved this way. Two light sources are so mounted over the document surface at a specific angle formed with the document surface that they are a certain distance away from each other and bilaterally symmetrical. These light sources are surface light emitters made by forming a light-emitting layer on a transparent substrate. And a fiber lens formed of a plurality of bundles of optical fibers is mounted in the gap between the two surface light emitters. Even if the surface light emitter is brought close to the reading position, a uniform illuminance intensity can be obtained at this reading position. Furthermore, if a fiber lens with a small diameter is used in place of the rod lens, the conjugate length can be shortened.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2002Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tetsuroh Nakamura, Masaichiro Tatekawa

Publication number: 20030030856Abstract: The object of the invention is to extend the life of the light source while uniformizing the illuminance intensity in the main scanning direction. The invention is based on a light source of image reading apparatus comprised of film layers laminated on a transparent substrate in the order of a transparent electrode, an area light emitter and a metal electrode, and emitting light by impressing a specific voltage on these two electrodes. And an area light emitter column configured by arranging area light emitters corresponding to each color of R (red), G (green) and B (blue) in the sub scanning direction, or a monochrome area light emitter is arranged repeatedly in the main scanning direction. Accordingly, even when somewhere in the light emitting element has a defect like the film thickness is thin, the current gathering at this point with the low resistance value becomes a very small volume. Therefore, it would not occur that the film burns out from here.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 9, 2002Publication date: February 13, 2003Applicant: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tetsuroh Nakamura, Masakazu Mizusaki, Ken-ichi Masumoto

Patent number: 6497477Abstract: Formed on a first face of a head main body are nozzles. Formed on an opposite second face of the head main body are actuators. A driver IC is, at its both ends, fixedly supported on the second face of the head main body so that the driver IC lies astride the actuators, in other words, the driver IC is mounted on a side of the head main body opposite to the ink emitting side. One ends of relay terminals formed on the second side of the head main body are coupled via respective wires to a printer main body. The other ends of the relay terminals are coupled via bonding wires to corresponding input terminals of the driver IC. Output terminals of the driver IC and input terminals of the actuators are connected together by bonding wires.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1999Date of Patent: December 24, 2002Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tetsuroh Nakamura, Hideaki Horio
